A frightening high-speed crash temporarily halted race two of this weekend's Supercar Championship event at Wanneroo Raceway within the opening lap.

“I think sometimes people forget they can lift as well. Pye said he was fine in the aftermath of the crash, but was disappointed the crash would force him out of both of the afternoon’s races. Scott Pye was left with a destroyed car after he was sent careering into a concrete barrier on the opening lap of racing today.

A war of words erupted between Supercars drivers after a 175km/h crash on lap one brought out the red flag in Perth on Sunday.
