How to Start Using Zoom Avatars for Fun Meetings (MakeUseOf)

Here's how to turn yourself into an amusing animal avatar on Zoom to make your friends laugh during a video call.

To update Zoom on desktop, click your profile picture in the top-right and select Check for Updates. - Select the animal avatar you wish to use. To check your avatar abilities, go to the Zoom settings page on the web. Navigate to the In Meeting (Advanced) category and go to the Avatars section. This also means the images aren't sent to or stored by Zoom. As such, using an avatar is a nice compromise if you are security conscious and don't wish to appear on camera. It means you can be represented in the call, but as a cute animal rather than yourself!

Councillor Bradley later responded on air to Breakfast host Gareth Parker about the shocking audio of him from the council meeting. Cr Bradley (pictured top left in the meeting) wasn’t happy about the lack of information in front of him and is then heard banging his desk repeatedly, before flicking his lamp on and off in disgust and ignoring the calls of an exasperated mayor Keri Shannon to settle down, as she desperately tries to get an unnamed person to turn off his microphone after “another desk-banging exercise”.
