Young gun solves Dragons' problem; Johnson 'mixed bag' sees Warriors fall short - 3 Big Hits.

“There were 25 players in the tackle and Lomax made it back out. “I trained (at fullback) pretty much throughout the whole pre-season so I guess I knew what to do. Moses Mbye 10. (Griffin) told me on Tuesday arvo to go run some drills at fullback and I was that excited... Moses Suli 4. “Cody Ramsey at fullback, I thought was electric. Johnson rejoined the Warriors this season after he failed to live up to his billing in a big-money move to the Sharks in 2019. Set up a try, scored a try himself, I thought he was very good,” Parker said. Lomax then crossed for his second to give the Dragons a 22-18 lead and he pushed out the lead with a penalty goal in the 70th. The Warriors threw the ball around like a hot potato in a wild final play to try and draw the match, but the Dragons hung on. Ramsey scored the Dragons’ second try and set up what proved the match-winner for Zac Lomax in the second half. But the Dragons responded again as Vailea crossed for his second and the sides traded tries in the opening eight minutes of the second half, with Dallin Watene-Zelezniak and Michael Molo scoring.

Dragons v Warriors: Molo to debut; Lodge departs immediately ... (Loop PNG)

The Dragons and Warriors featured in two of the more bizarre games at Magic Round, left to rue what might have been after going under in tense finishes.

Hunt is enjoying a fine season for the Red V with nine try assists and 27 tackle breaks, testing opposition defences with his incisive runs and vision. Warriors: Ben Murdoch-Masila will start for Matt Lodge after the prop was granted an immediate release from the remainder of his contract. Dragons: Jack Gosiewski, who was named to replace Josh McGuire (groin), is out and is instead replaced in the run-on side by Tyrell Fuimaono. Cody Ramsey starts at fullback in place of Tyrell Sloan, while Francis Molo's younger brother Michael will make his NRL debut from the bench.

Dragons outlast Warriors in close affair (NRL.COM)

Goalkicking proved the difference as the Dragons came from behind to down the Warriors 24-18 in the wet at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday.

Amone then made a long range break and was pulled down by Reece Walsh, who interfered in the play-the-ball and conceded a penalty that enabled Lomax to extend the Dragons lead to 24-18. He helps our attack and our defence a lot," Warriors coach Nathan Brown. Tohu is our best player and he has come back in his second game after nine months and that is why we improved. For us it looked like initially we were going to get caught in goal so it was just a sign of what they wanted to do in the second half. They wanted to win that game and they lifted themselves with little efforts like that, defensively when we needed them," Dragons coach Anthony Griffin. "The thing I was most impressed with was the second half when the game was going against us and we had to wrestle it back, which we did.

Warriors slump to third straight defeat (New Zealand Herald)

The Warriors remain a work in progress – and are running out of time to find their best.

From that high, things went south in the space of four minutes. They got momentum through the middle and limited mistakes, even if they lacked some snap in their sets. But otherwise they were solid and probably should have been further ahead. The Warriors tried to force their way back into the contest, before a controversial call, with Lomax adjudged to have made it out of his in goal, after a massive pile-up, when all available evidence suggested he hadn't. The Dragons were rewarded for more invention and endeavour, while they also lifted the intensity in the second half and the Warriors couldn't stay with them. The Warriors remain a work in progress – and they are running out of time to find their best.
