Jackass 4.5 offers a peek behind the scenes of Jackass Forever, along with a few deleted gags.
Of course, even though they take the pandemic seriously, they can’t pass up the opportunity for a few explosive corona-centric pranks just to get back in the groove. In keeping with the vibe of the full feature, it opens with a surfing gag gone awry, reintroducing us to Jackasses new and old in the middle of innocent (albeit painful) summer fun. While not nearly as magical as seeing the original Jackasses pass the baton via tests of bodily fortitude, Jackass 4.5 does offer a wider window into the actual process by which newcomers Zach, Poopies, Eric, Rachel, Jasper, and Dark Shark were chosen in the first place. Following the tradition of the Jackass sequels and their follow-ups, Jackass 4.5 offers both glimpses behind the scenes and a litany of deleted gags. It’s a light and decently informative process piece, which is especially worthwhile in the streaming era, when films are seldom packaged with bonus making-of content like DVDs and Blu-rays usually are. Since it isn’t even the first entry of its kind, it’s clear just how far ahead of the curve the Jackass boys were with films 2.5 and 3.5 back in the day.
And to be brutally honest, part of the prank doesn't work, because it's rendered overly elaborate by head Jackass guy Johnny Knoxville, so you understand why it ...
The “regular” films are barely “films” at all, and these in-betweener collections of random crapola are even less so. Our Take: Jackass 4.5 features possibly the most revolting thing I’ve ever seen in a movie: Jackasseteers putting sashimi beneath the fat folds and in the butt crack of 400-lb. Fresh gags include the self-explanatory “HOT SAUCE ENEMA” and a variation on “CUP TEST” that sees Danger Ehren getting his genitals smashed by a bowling ball. Of course, the latter part includes a fake Covid safety meeting in which all parties sit around a big table and are bowled over by the sudden surprise inflation of a bouncy house. That moment caps Jackass 4.5’s 90 minutes of hodgepodge, some of it new and disgusting, some of it repetitive if you’ve seen Jackass Forever (and why would you be watching this if you hadn’t?). We get scenes from a Jackass cast-and-crew beach party, a reintroduction to new cast members (Poopies, Jasper, Zach, Rachel, Eric), interviews with principal creatives about how and why the movie came together after a decade-long break and the inevitable sequence addressing how the Covid pandemic interrupted filming for six months. Jackass 4.5 is the traditional compilation of outtakes and behind-the-scenes content (see also: Jackass 2.5 and Jackass 3.5) that’s sure to fulfill your insatiable desire for more genital-mutilation incidents and gag-and-chunder scenes, as if the regular film doesn’t already have enough of that stuff.

Well, because of the current time, the pandemic situation, it made doing stuff with the public super, super hard, and that's what Party Boy completely depends on, but we did figure out a way to do it, but it's in 4.5," Pontius teased. Back when Jackass Forever was released, ComicBook.com asked Pontius why the moment was cut, and he confirmed it'll be featured in 4.5. It didn't make the movie because there was too many d-cks in the movie. You'll see it was the closest I think I really could have come to ripping my d-ck off. "I pretty much almost got my d-ck ripped off ... It could happen to anyone," Dave Englund added. In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, some of the cast teased what fans can expect from these extra stunts.

Kicking back with Johnny Knoxville and the crew while they embark upon stunts you wouldn't even conjure up in your head, let alone attempt, is always time well ...
He’s the funniest guy!” You know we have a strong movie when 4.5 is strong. So many great things got kicked out of Jackass Forever just because maybe they were similar to something else we had in the film, or we had too many pranks on the cast, or too many things like this. He’s amazing! Kicking back with Johnny Knoxville and the crew while they embark upon stunts you wouldn’t even conjure up in your head, let alone attempt, is always time well spent. Is Jackass 4.5 the same as Jackass Forever?
This review of the Netflix film Jackass 4.5 does not contain spoilers. I am a huge fan of the Jackass franchise and was rather excited to find out that.
Speaking of the franchise, one of the things about Jackass 4.5 and the rest of the .5s is seeing the family-like atmosphere behind the scenes. I loved and ate up every single minute of this, and I can’t wait to revisit it. If you are a fan of the franchise and loved Jackass Forever, Jackass 4.5 will not disappoint one bit. One of the things that stood out early in the film was that Johnny Knoxville had kept on writing over the last decade even with the idea that Jackass might be done for good. They shoot hours upon hours of footage with stunts, jokes, and gags, and some don’t make the cut. I love these guys and this franchise.
