As Obi-Wan Kenobi gets underway, Disney are already looking ahead to Andor with the release of a new trailer.
With the trailer premiering at the Star Wars Celebration, it is now available to watch around the world online. The beauty of this show is that there is no way they'll kill me." Here’s what we know about the Star Wars show so far, including the cast, trailer, and release date.
'Star Wars: Andor,' starring Diego Luna, Stellan Skarsgård and Fiona Shaw, will premiere on Disney Plus from August 31st.
Along with Andor, the streaming service will also stream the third season of The Mandalorian, the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series, Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka series and a Lando Calrissian “event series.” It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.” “The Andor series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5UX1Adanis I was already looking forward to Disney's Andor miniseries, focusing on Rogue One's token badass, Cassian Andor.
Will the Mouse neuter that a little bit? I was already looking forward to Disney's Andor miniseries, focusing on Rogue One's token badass, Cassian Andor. But the newly released teaser trailer makes me even more excited. Just as Rogue One leaned (gently) into the radicalization side of freedom fighting, Andor looks like it's not shying away from tackling colonialist oppression — in other words, the literal imperialism of the Imperial forces.

Can you spot Cleveleys beach or the Cafe Cove? The series follows rebel spy Cassian Andor (Diego Luna) during the formative years of the Rebellion. The show, which stars Diego Luna as the title character Cassian Andor and Marvel star Stellan Skarsgård, takes place five years before the events of the 2016 Star Wars film Rogue One.
The first trailer for Disney+'s upcoming Andor has just arrived, and the first glimpses reveal Star Wars' Rebels at their darkest hour.
Getting to know more about the unsung heroes of the Rebellion can offer more depth to the conflict with the Empire. The success of Luke, Leia, Han and Chewie will presumably be built upon the backs of the people who work from the shadows in Andor. This is much different from the Star Wars most are used to: politicians in the Senate or Rebels fighting in space. The music throughout the teaser has a note of darkness to it. The trailer is full of intimidation and desperation, which is just the vibe that many fans wanted for the series. Andor has already been approved for a second season, and fans' reactions to the trailer prove that it was the right decision. The Star Wars universe continues to expand.
Cassian Jeron Andor is a human soldier who served with the Rebel Alliance when the Galactic Empire was at the peak of its power. A rebel operative that works in ...
The Empire is known for being “creative” when it comes to the imprisonment of its enemies. Andor is set to explore the grey area in the middle. Saw Gerrera was the leader of a different rebel cell that was willing to do anything for the victory. We saw her first in A New Hope, later in Revenge of the Sith, the Clone Wars animated show, Rogue One, and even Star Wars Rebels. But after all, it is a war and both sides have to decide what limits they’re willing to cross in order to get the advantage. The story will lead up to the events in Rogue One.

"Andor" is one of a slew of Star Wars series in the works for Disney's streaming service. The trailer teases Obi-Wan Kenobi and Lord Darth Vader's upcoming battle. Diego Luna reprises his role as Cassian Andor from "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" in the upcoming Disney+ series. Like the "Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi" series, as per IGN, it will premiere with two episodes. Andor is, without a doubt, a full-fledged spy show with plenty of political intrigues. As militant forces approach, a guy named Salman Paak pushes his people to cover their weapons and hide.
Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O'Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, among others.
It's an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero. Apart from the trailer release, a second season of the show was also confirmed on Thursday at Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, California. There are also three gunships approaching, the arrival of which prompts both, the locals and their weapons, to hide.

The show’s official synopsis describes the show as “a tense nail-biting spy thriller” and promises the return of “rebel spy Cassian Andor”. Created by Tony Gilroy, the show is set to arrive on Disney+ in 2022. They’re everywhere.” “So fat and satisfied.
Composer Nicholas Britell, Emmy winner for "Succession," is working on the music for "Andor," the next "Star Wars" TV series.
“The scope of the series is massive. Because there’s a lot of music in the series, we really jumped in, and that has continued to this day. Lucasfilm’s announcement yesterday said the series “will explore an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue. Everyone’s on the same page about having a specific set of soundscape textures, sound worlds, for this.” There’s a wide range of sounds, and I’ve created a lot of new sounds. How would Britell characterize his “Andor” music?

Bail Organa · Mas Amedda · Ahsoka Tano · Obi-Wan Kenobi · Hera Syndulla · The Bad Batch · Jar Jar Binks · Grand Admiral Thrawn.
Abject_Cellist_4896 believes that the Big Bad of Star Wars could have one more appearance left in him. Thrawn seems to be the linchpin of Star Wars' streaming future, with his character presumably acting as the villain in the upcoming Ahsoka series. There were even once rumors of his appearance in Obi-Wan Kenobi, though this seems unlikely now that the series has begun to air. If this is the case, including her in Andor, even just as a cameo, could be the perfect way to keep her in fans' minds moving into her own series next year. Her live-action debut in The Mandalorian followed by an appearance in The Book of Boba Fett and her forthcoming spinoff series seem to imply that the former Jedi will continue to be a major part of the franchise moving forward. Andor could expand on Amedda's role in the Empire and the franchise itself, while lending a political presence that implies the power of the Emperor without actually featuring the Sith ruler.
Exclusive: Andor TV show star Genevieve O'Reilly teases more details to be revealed about her enigmatic Star Wars character Mon Mothma.
Some of that mystery however stands to be dispelled in the upcoming Star Wars universe show Andor, which brings back O’Reilly as the authoritative Rebel Alliance leader. Andor star Genevieve O’Reilly provides more details about Mon Mothma in the upcoming Star Wars show. Mon Mothma indeed stands as a pivotal figure in Star Wars lore despite her limited live-action screen time, and the character remains somewhat mysterious.
New footage from the forthcoming series sees Diego Luna reprise his role as rebel hero Cassian Andor.
Tony Gilroy is the creator and serves as showrunner. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.” Andor is set prior to the events of Rogue One. Per Disney+, “the series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make.
The biggest reveals from the Star Wars: Andor trailer include a spotlight on Rebel hero Mon Mothma and a mysterious Imperial project.
Hundreds walk through enclosed corridors within the Imperial facility in a shot very reminiscent of Kamino, where the Kaminoans grew Clone Troopers for the Republic. The Empire builds something at the mysterious facility in the new trailer and whatever it is, it's important. Coruscant features in a big way throughout the teaser, including an intriguing shot that shows who appears to be Mon Mothma before the Imperial Senate. Time plays a key role in the trailer. Stormtroopers and Clone Troopers abound in the trailer, promising a deep dive into Star Wars lore in the upcoming series. That includes a focus on Mon Mothma, a key figure in the saga but a bit player in other movies.
Sharing a timeline with Star Wars Rebels, Andor takes place five years before the events of Rogue One and will focus on the founding of the Rebellion.
Mon Mothma will be portrayed by Genevieve O'Reilly, who will be reprising her role from Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and Rogue One. Star Wars Rebels was Disney’s first Star Wars project after completing the purchase of Lucasfilm Ltd in 2012. Andor, the next original Star Wars series on Disney+, repeats the timeline from Disney’s first-ever Star Wars project.
Yesterday was a great day for Star Wars fans. Thanks to the May 26-29, 2022 Anaheim Convention Center, it's also been a good week.
But the real brilliance of the trailer is that we see several protagonists with their backs turned as Mon Mothma tells us that people are starting to rise. This scene seems to be one of the multiple flashbacks that the series will have, and quite possibly, the child we see in yellow in the center may be a young Cassian Andor or part of his family. We see the streets of Coruscant, the elegant transport, and the most beautiful part of the capital’s aristocracy. Already at the end of Andor’s new trailer, we not only see a new Imperial villain who will be hunting Cassian Andor. Right there, we see our protagonist in a hologram, and he is also quite rejuvenated. So Andor’s new trailer prepares us for this series full of action and references to the Star Wars universe. In it, we can see the structure of this organization and the bureaucracy involved to the core. This series will connect very well with this character with Clone Wars with Rebels, the revenge of the Siths, and with Rogue One. Because even above all, in Rebels, we saw how Mothma herself left the imperial senate, thus forming an opposition bloc. Remember that Tony Gilroy, the creator of this series, already told us that we would see how the Empire initially invaded Andor’s homeworld with its expansionist hunger. It is quite clear if we put together the different shots of the trailer that this actress is a rebel, and this town of recyclers workers has risen against the Galactic Empire. We know very well that Emperor Palpatine doesn’t like that at all. That’s why we see a pile of metallic garbage and an old orange robot that looks like it came from the old republic passing by. What was shown in Andor’s new trailer is spectacular and shows a lot of life in the Imperial era. This story is set in the year five before the Battle of Yavin as a prequel to Rogue One, just aligned with the events of the Star Wars Rebels series.
Diego Luna as Cassian Andor · Genevieve O'Reilly as Mon Mothma · Forest Whitaker as Saw Gerrera · Stellan Skarsgård as Rebel Leader (Luther Rand?) · Denise Gough as ...
However, Arjona has revealed that she plays a very practical woman in Andor. Rumors have suggested that she may be someone very close to Andor. From the trailer, it appears she may be a Rebel, potentially fleeing from Imperial authorities. However, we do get a quick shot of Soller’s character in the trailer, where we see him looking at a hologram of Andor. He’s the only Imperial Officer who seems to have an interest in Andor in the trailer. From the trailer, it appears that she is on the side of the Rebels. And although we only get one small shot of her, she states the most poignant line of the trailer, “People are standing up… In the trailer, we see him leading some kind of meeting of Imperial Officers. He could potentially be an Intelligence Officer. Lesser’s role in Andor as a villain is exciting, considering he has impressively portrayed villainous characters before. In addition to Andor, Soller is known for appearing in Anna Karenina, Marrowbone, and The Titan. Kyle Soller will be appearing in Andor in the role of an Imperial Officer. His character’s name has not yet been revealed. She has portrayed Mothma in Revenge of the Sith and Rogue One, and even voiced the animated Mothma in Star Wars Rebels. Her reappearance in Andor makes sense, considering Mothma is one of the most important faces of the Rebellion. Not only was she brave enough to publicly condemn the Empire, but she headed the Rebellion during the darkest of times and also greatly influenced Leia Organa, who would also become a Rebel leader. Stellan Skarsgård will appear in Andor in the role of a seemingly original Rebel Leader. We don’t really know a whole lot about his character, aside from what we saw in the trailer. Leading the series is, of course, Luna, reprising his role as Andor. His role in Andor will mark his second appearance in the Star Wars franchise. Andor‘s trailer also gave us a first-look at Anton Lesser’s role as an Imperial Officer. Again, we don’t know the details of his character, however, like Gough, he seems to be a particularly shifty one. However, the show’s creators have teased that his role in the series is huge. In Rogue One, we met a group of rebels who banded together to steal the Death Star plans from the Galactic Republic. Now, Andor is going way back to where the rebellion first took root.
Andor is the prequel series to widely acclaimed movie Rogue One, and it brings back Diego Luna as title character. Set five years before the movie, the show ...
"It was a boon to have done that tiny bit on Revenge of the Sith, because she was also a senator at that point, and she was very young, and so I knew that this woman had been within the Senate from that age, and I know she ends up as a leader of the rebellion. This is what prompts the Rebellion to act, in a series of events that are chronicled across the Star Wars franchise, including the very first movie in the saga, A New Hope. Previously, and as we know from Rogue One, she’s leader of the Rebellion now, she’s within the Imperial Senate. So we know that there’s something that has to shift and change and go probably terribly wrong before she lets go of being able to affect change from within the Senate and then becomes the leader of the Rebellion. So there’s so much to discover, there’s so much to learn, there’s so much I’m curious about and I think the fans will be curious about it."
Yesterday was a big news day for Star Wars fans as the “Star Wars Celebration” (SWC) convention kicked off in Anaheim. Among the reveals was a premiere date ...
According to creator and showrunner Tony Gilroy at SWC, “We’re going to rewind 5 years back from Rogue One.” So that gives you an idea of where the series fits into the Star Wars universe of stories. It will debut with the first two episodes, then return to a weekly single episode schedule. Gilroy said that the series will be back in front on the cameras in November to shoot the second season, and the final episode of the second season will “walk you into ‘Rogue.'”

It is also expected to be a much more politically minded show, with star Luna referring to it as a refugee journey. Diego Luna’sAndor , which is set to follow the spy-turned-rebel hero Cassian Andor as he joins the fledgling Rebellion, will premiere on Disney+ with two episodes on August 31st. From then on, Obi-Wan Kenobi would get involved, and so would Luke Skywalker, and the franchise set in a galaxy far, far away would be born.
The trailer for the Star Wars show Andor features Clone Troopers wearing Phase II armor, indicating the timeline of the upcoming Rogue One spinoff.
Due to their brain implants, clone troopers not only killed their Jedi leaders but also supported the Empire in its earliest days. The first trailer for Andor briefly shows a quartet of clone troopers, clad in Phase II armor, indicating that the moment depicted is either at the end of the Clone Wars or at the very beginning of the Empire’s reign. Similar to The Mandalorian’s flashbacks, the clone trooper scene might depict Cassian’s tragic experiences during the Clone Wars. Only, in this case, it would include his affiliation with an unscrupulous faction.

The “Andor” series will explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. It’s an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero. Disney+ is pleased to share the trailer and key art from its upcoming series “Andor” that was featured this morning at Star Wars Celebration. The new, original series from Lucasfilm takes place prior to the events of “Rogue One” and launches exclusively on Disney+ on 31st August, with the first two episodes.
Some fans roll their eyes at Star Wars' politics, but the upcoming Andor series on Disney+ looks like it's going to make politics very exciting.
As wars wage online and in the physical world, democracy’s permanence feels less certain today than it did even when Revenge of the Sith brought the saga to a (very temporary) close. The transcript of a story conference with George Lucas and writer Lawrence Kasdan appeared in a book about the making of Return of the Jedi. When discussing the new character of the Galactic Emperor, Kasdan asked if, like Vader, he used to be a Jedi. “No, he was a politician. This will be a chance for Star Wars to show how the Imperial propaganda sausage gets made. This means that the politics of the galaxy will not just be part of the story, but central to this character’s journey. The idea that "art makes change" is nice but may not be precisely true. Both of these new Disney+ Star Wars series are set between the prequel and original trilogies, what Alec Guinness’ Ben Kenobi called “the dark times.” They also both feature protagonists who, while capable heroes, choose not to fight the larger evil. This means that both the plot and the emotional center of the series will be tied to galactic politics and policy. These sorts of choices make for interesting drama, but also provide an opportunity to more closely examine exactly why the Empire is evil. The Empire is a fascistic dictatorship subjugating the galaxy, while the Rebel Alliance is a well-armed band of freedom fighters trying to restore democracy. Yet, Lucas also put his commentary about the Vietnam War in Return of the Jedi. In the prequels, Lucas then wanted to tell the story of how the “good” Republic became the “evil” Empire. While the former is easy to latch on to, the other is much more complex than some folks expect for movies about space wizards. Yes, George Lucas dreamed up a fantasy world of magic and adventure like the serials he used to watch in moviehouses as a child. One of the first complaints some fans had about The Phantom Menace was the vague and slightly convoluted political storyline.
