TOKYO: Waseda University and the embassy of Oman held a joint cultural evening to mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Oman.

A quiz was held at the end with prizes related to Oman and all participants received a small gift to remind them of the event. His speech highlighted the importance of the bilateral diplomatic relations which have officially existed for fifty years, but which in reality began 400 years ago between the two countries. The event also included a presentation on daily life in Oman, and Arabic lessons by students from Oman. Some students also wore traditional costumes from different regions of Oman and demonstrated an Arabic coffee ceremony.

New discoveries to boost oil output by up to 10% (Muscat Daily)

New discoveries of oil reserves in Oman will help it increase daily average production by five to ten per cent over the next two to three years.

He expressed optimism about improvement of conditions for the gas sector in the coming years. Oman’s total oil exports grew by 16.5 per cent in the January–April period of 2022 to 108.8mn barrels compared to 93.3mn barrels recorded in the corresponding period of 2021. Oil production during the January–April period of this year increased by more than nine per cent to 1.04mn bpd compared to 952,800bpd in the corresponding period of 2021.

Muscat: Oman has witnessed a rapid transformation in activating e-learning during COVID-19, according to a senior official at the Ministry of Education.

She said: “The participants are divided into three categories (school principals, educational supervisors, first teachers and teachers) over the three days of this seminar, and each category will discuss the four topics, namely: the mechanism of employing educational platforms in direct education, experiences and expertise in employing educational platforms in direct education, following up on the activation of platforms in direct education, and developmental ideas in employing platforms in direct education.” The Ministry is in the process of preparing a guide to activate educational platforms in public schools as a reference for educators and researchers interested in activating e-learning, as it remains an important part of the educational process.” She also pointed out the topics of this seminar, in which the participants in their three categories will discuss how to benefit from their experiences and developmental visions.
