It will accelerate to 100kph in 6.9 seconds and will offer a WLTP range of 455km. New Zealand won’t get the seven-seat version, to begin with at least. And those articles are free.
Dig into the fine print though, and it's actually more than a mere $150 over the EV rebate thresholds in NSW and Victoria.
“The dutiable value of a vehicle is the total amount paid (including GST) for the vehicle, which includes delivery costs, accessories and options added to the vehicle… The fine print for the NSW and Victorian $3000 rebates at least state clearly the dutiable amount on which the threshold is applied includes delivery costs. At first, we thought this was tantalisingly close to the $3000 rebate threshold in Victoria ($68,740 or under), or New South Wales and South Australia ($68,750 or under).

Another right hand drive country - Japan - also witnessed its Model Y release date at long last, at the equivalent of US$47,037 starting price for the standard RWD model. Despite the decent pricing, the AU$3,000 incentive from the NSW government ends at the AU$68,750 threshold, so the Model Y won't qualify for that one. The Tesla Model Y price in Australia is also a fairly pleasant surprise.
