Alexandra Breckenridge as Melinda "Mel" Monroe · Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan · Annette O'Toole as Hope McCrea · Tim Matheson as Doc Mullins · Benjamin ...
The only totally new face in the season 4 cast of Virgin River is Dr. Hayek, played by Ghanimé, who joins Mel and Doc as the clinic's second doctor. Joining the cast of Virgin River for season four is Denny, played by Bradbury, who showed up at the end of season three asking about Doc Mullins. The reason? Due to COVID-19 filming restrictions, veteran actress McCrea—who plays the town's beloved mayor, Hope—wasn't able to join the rest of the cast in Vancouver for the filming of season three. After a shaky start in the tiny, insular town, Mel settles in—and falls for local veteran and bar owner Jack Sheridan, played by Henderson. Season three ended with Mel telling Jack she was pregnant, but that the baby might not be his. Virgin River takes its inspiration from "slower" small-town shows like Dawson's Creek and Gilmore Girls—an antidote to the high-octane glossiness of shows like Succession.) The fourth season of hit Netflix romance series Virgin River welcomes back its existing cast—the oddball, tight-night community of Virgin River, a fictional town in Northern California—while introducing a handful of new characters to shake things up.
Whose baby is Mel having on Virgin River? Is Jack or Mark the father? The season 4 finale of Virgin River gives us an answer, as well as a twist about ...
So: In the finale of Season Four of "Virgin River," Mel gets paperwork back with information about the child she's carrying — including the identity of the father. Drumroll, please: Jack is the child's father — and they're having a girl. She recently suffered the loss of her husband, Mark, who died in a car accident, and a miscarriage. Mel returns to Los Angeles and decides to approach motherhood in a different way. Jack was about to propose when Mel revealed that she was pregnant — and he might not be the father. Mel, a nurse practitioner, moved to the small California town with the intention of recuperation.
Now streaming on Netflix, the drama's 12-episode fourth season kicks off with Jack strolling alongside a very pregnant Mel, casually exchanging baby name ideas, ...
It’s a storyline that Breckenridge admits can be “rather confusing” once you start digging into the science of it all. This should be obvious for two reasons: (1) Mark is dead, and (2) There’s no way Mel would be that far along given the pace at which this show crawls. “The baby might be his, remember?” Right on cue, in walks Mel’s dead ex-husband, who acknowledges Jack before greeting Mel with a kiss.
During the Virgin River season four finale, Charmaine reveals Jack isn't the father of her twins. Here are a few theories while we wait for season five.
Brady and Brie seem to be a happy budding couple by the end of Virgin River season four—but what if he and Charmaine had an off-screen fling back in season one? And I think I would be the one who was shot at the end of season two, and not him. According to CNY Fertility, these drugs “can be prescribed in conjunction with several reproductive treatments,” including IVF. While it seems plausible that Mel was brushing up on the information for herself, she wasn’t actively considering motherhood at this point in her relationship with Jack. What if Charmaine had been pursuing fertility treatments behind Jack’s back, and Mel was familiarizing herself with her new patient’s medical history? Of course, if this were the case, why would Charmaine go through the trouble of lying to Jack, especially when he wasn’t that invested in their relationship by the end, anyway? But while one baby question has been resolved, another arrived during the final seconds of season four (oh, Virgin River—never change). After Jack and Mel rush to Charmaine’s house to help with a medical emergency, she says her mystery affliction is karma. But if it’s not him, then, uh, who is the father of Charmaine’s twins on Virgin River? Though Jack no longer having kids with Charmaine will probably make his life with Mel much, much easier, it’s still a question worth digging into. But if you rewatch the first two seasons of Virgin River closely, you’ll notice several potential hints toward Charmaine’s own struggles in this area. The only other person Charmaine’s been romantically linked to on Virgin River is, of course, Todd, making him a natural first suspect. Later, in the season two premiere, Mel finally decides to take on Charmaine as a patient—and the very next time we see her, she’s studying up on some very intriguing medications (clomiphene citrate and letrozole) in an article about ovulation induction. When Mel told Jack that she was pregnant but unsure of her new baby’s paternity, fans were forced to wait a year to find out who the dad-to-be was: Jack, or Mel’s deceased ex-husband, Mark. Fortunately, season four made it clear as Clear River itself— as many fans predicted, Jack is, indeed, the dad. Virgin River loves its cliffhangers—and last year’s reveal at the end of season three was one of the biggest yet. The twins—they’re not your babies,” she tearfully confesses to Jack.
Season 4 of 'Virgin River' offers up the answers you've been waiting for (who shot Jack? who's the daddy?) along with new mysteries to unpack.
But she hesitates to shoot, and Vince knocks Preacher to the ground, leaving him with a nasty-looking head wound. Mel offers to fill in until he can find somebody, but how on earth is that going to put in the 25 hours a week Hope needs alongside her job at the clinic? Then Brie heads to the clinic, where she congratulates Mel and immediately picks up on the weird vibes with Cameron. Mel pulls her outside to explain… Brie arrives to say that their mom's demanding she host a shower for the twins in Sacramento now, and she and Jack razz each other a bit. They take their celebration to a suite, and as they lounge in bed, Mel's email dings with the paternity results. Three days later, Jack and Mel are at the OB for the paternity test, and afterward they head home to make plans for the glamping business, clearly in a better place with each other. The next day, Preacher takes Jack back to his Bronco and urges him to see a therapist. Then he digs in his heels and refuses to go to the wedding, in part because Jack will be there. Joey walks down the aisle in their mother's earrings that Mel gave her that morning, and Brady slips in late, whispering to Brie that he'd do anything for her. Then Cameron arrives and brings up the drug cabinet again, but Hope hustles him to the maypole to avoid that conversation with Doc. He floats the idea of Denny staying with them, but Hope's frustrated waiting for her body to heal and wants Doc to protect her solitude while she does. The women of the town are ready with a warm welcome and stampede to make appointments with Dr. Hayek. To his credit, he gamely keeps them all.
Filming for 'Virgin River' Season 5 is officially underway and we're hoping it answers all the questions that season 4 left us with.
The fallout of this will definitely be explored in season five. However, Mel has been slowly developing a bond with the town's new doctor, Cameron, and it's clear that his feelings for her definitely aren't platonic, so this could potentially throw a spanner in the works. - Sarah Dugdale – Lizzie

Things get very dicey for Ben Hollingsworth's Dan Brady at the start of "Virgin River" Season 4 on Netflix.
As such, he survives all of Virgin River Season 4. And the good news for fans of the character is – he survives his injuries. Brie ends Season 4 deciding to press charges on Don, which could seriously dredge up her past trauma and impact on her current love affair in the next season. As the episode ends, Brady is seen bleeding out in the yard. It's a good thing too — since the season ends on another massive revelation, the fact that Charmaine's (Lauren Hammersley) twins are not actually Jack's after all. "But it was a really interesting take that the writers chose, where they gave Jack this perspective of, 'Okay, I'm going to be the father to this woman I love's child, but it may not be my own.' One would assume you have the same relationship to that child but there is a selfishness to people too, and this idea of it's not mine, so will I have the same degree of connection to this child? "Mark and Jack look very different, so I feel like eventually you're going to figure it out." It's so powerful and strong between them that if it was Mark's, it just felt like it was the past coming up again. So it's an interesting ride they go along that they then try and navigate that and be respectful of the other's individual take on it and all that drama that ensues from it." But it was interesting that Jack, who is a man who doesn't know that from experience, has doubts.
Already renewed by Netflix, 'Virgin River' season 5 is expected to film in Vancouver in summer 2022.
Seasons three and four were released a year apart, in July 2021 and July 2022—signaling that Netflix may be aiming to release one new season of the show per year. Now that season 4 of Virgin River is out in the world, fans are itching to find out when they can expect season 5—and what that season might look like. The pace is leisurely, the relationships are slow burners, and the electronics are few and far between—but Netflix has moved fast to capitalize on its unexpected success, quickly renewing Virgin River for seasons 4 and 5 in the wake of the release of season three.
Virgin River is filmed amongst stunning mountain and lake scenery. Here's where the locations fans have come to know and love can be found in real life.

The property last went on sale in 2021, for a cool $2.3 million. When Mel arrives in Virgin River in season 1, the interior of the cabin is in a dilapidated state. REVIEW: Need an escape from crumbling democracies, Covid-ravaged society and climate change-fuelled chaos? Could this really be the best show on TV?
It’s a unilateral decision that doesn’t best please Monroe. “If I focus on the ‘what if’s’, I’m not going to function,” she chides. But for all its potential preposterousness, there’s something warm and comforting about watching the sometimes trivial, mostly life-upending trials and tribulations of the inhabitants of this small town. Welcome to binge-watch friendly world of Virgin River, where “the internet is slow, but the gossip is fast”, where a racoon regularly haunts the local bar to steal the silverware and the arrival of a handsome new doctor causes the waiting room to be filled with virtually the entire over-40 female population.
Who shot Jack in Virgin River? Season four revealed the answer. Was it Brady or Calvin, or was it Vince? Who planted the gun in Brady's car?
The crimes never stop in Virgin River. Calvin is seemingly killed in a boating explosion. The finale ends with Preacher smashing Vince over the head with a piece of wood during a violent confrontation, in which he pointed a gun at Paige. Vince's gun was found with DNA evidence from the scene of the crime. Preacher helps cover up the murder and takes care of Christopher so Paige can leave town. When Jack's memory returns following a breakthrough, he confirms that Brady was not his assailant. He also associated himself with Calvin (David Cubitt), Virgin River's local drug lord, whose business Jack tried to take down.

No one can show support like a small, fictional town, the kind of mutual aid many of us have been desperately missing during the pandemic — perhaps why shows like "Virgin River" and the different, though equally chummy " Only Murders in the Building" have surged during this time. What keeps me (and maybe you, secretly) watching is the scenery and the citizens. A " Gilmore Girls" world has "Gilmore Girls" problems, including not many characters of color. Virgin River (Courtesy Of Netflix)Like a hand-knit sweater stored too long without cedar, "Virgin River" has some holes. Colin Lawrence as Preacher and Nicola Cavendish as Connie in "Virgin River" (Courtesy Of Netflix)PTSD from war and sexual violence aside, most of the subplots feel surprisingly relaxing because they're low stakes. Mel works in a medical practice out of a historic home, and though part of the first season includes her distaste about her lodging, Jack fixes up her cabin in no time. Brie (Zibby Allen), the attorney sister of bar owner Jack, is a survivor of sexual violence, and true to life, the assault won't stay buried. This is a "Gilmore Girls" world with low crime (despite some kind of convoluted loggers/drug dealers subplot that everyone ignores), high incomes and gorgeous houses. Perhaps we like "Virgin River" because it prepares us to deal with a secret surprise grandson, or adopting your baby sibling your mom almost abandoned because she had the infant late in life after her husband died and then she dies suddenly too and you have a seizure from stress? Terrible luck falls upon the town of Virgin River more steadily than the British Columbian (pretending to be Northern Californian) rain.
