Flooding closes State Highway 1 in south Marlborough (Stuff.co.nz)

Heavy rain has waterlogged Blenheim and closed several roads across the region.

Blenheim had 27.9 millimetres of rain by 8.45am on Tuesday, according to the Marlborough District Council Rain Report. That followed 22.1mm on Monday. However, Te Rapa on the east coast of Marlborough near Wharanui had the most at 46.1mm by 8.42am on Tuesday, following 31.4mm on Monday. Flooding has forced the closure of State Highway 1 to Blenheim and Picton at Seddon in Marlborough as wet weather hits parts of the South Island.
