Rumor Has It: One of the worst rom-coms of the noughties comes to ... (Stuff.co.nz)

REVIEW: A flailing Jennifer Aniston overshadows a brilliant supporting cast in this one-joke comedy that's closer to Deliverance than The Graduate.

Sarah is bland, unlikeable and just a Ross Gellar away from her Friends' character Rachel Green. At the time of its release, Rumour was just further evidence that Aniston was a one-trick (or haircut) pony. Given the subject-matter (including potential incest), you pray they thought they were making the former. Like the similarly themed The Family Stone from the same year, Rumour is unsure whether it wants to be a comedy or a drama. This is Spinal Tap, When Harry Met Sally and The American President are all chock-full of memorable moments and characters. It's probably why she has chosen to live as far away from their Californian home as possible, returning only on special occasions.
