'Freakish': Young gun stuns as Cowboys march through lacklustre Warriors — NRL LIVE.

“That’s why a couple of weeks ago Reece sat on the bench for us because he’s got to learn and last week was near his best performance for us. We’ll sit down and have a look at his performance along with everyone else.” “We’ll be calling his name for a long time, he’s going to be scoring a lot more tries and he’s going to be around for a long time. “How outstanding has this young man been in 2022? Since then he’s become an Origin player and one of the Cowboys’ most lethal players. “He dropped a couple of high balls that led to tries and got them back into the game, but it’s a learning thing for a young player and Reece was dropped a couple of weeks ago for being inconsistent. He’s a super player… Former Cowboy and Fox League sideline reporter Brent Tate highlighted how Nanai’s game has evolved this season. At the start of the season he was scoring a lot of his tries off kicks, but now it’s off his running game and his ability to change direction when the ball has been passed,” Tate said. “If you said at the start of the year that the Cowboys are going to be a top two side and Dearden’s going to get them there and play Origin I wouldn’t have believed it,” he said. North Queensland Cowboys vs New Zealand Warriors: NRL live ... (The Roar)

The North Queensland Cowboys host the New Zealand Warriors in Townsville as Round 23 of the NRL continues. Join The Roar for live scores…

I’m tipping them to ruthlessly dismantle the Warriors. Here’s a fearless prediction: there’ll be plenty of points in this game. It’s hard to envisage anything other than a Cowboys win. Tom Gilbert 12. Tom Dearden 7. Join The Roar for live scores and commentary from 6pm AEST. When using Facebook to create or log in to an account, you need to grant The Roar permission to see your email address It’s just a matter of whether it’ll be one-way traffic in favour of the Cowboys or whether the Warriors can get in on the act. But the Cowboys are at home and have plenty to play for and the Warriors have neither of those things. You must provide an email address to create a Roar account The Sharks are circling and victory at home to a demoralised Warriors team this evening is a must. Last weekend’s defeat to the Roosters was a setback in North Queensland’s quest for a top-two finish and a home final, with Cronulla drawing level on points and the Cowboys with two tough games to finish the season, away to Souths and at home to Penrith.

Another week, another humiliation: Warriors smashed in painful defeat (New Zealand Herald)

After a gutsy win against the Bulldogs last weekend, the Auckland club couldn't back it up, smashed 48-4 by the North Queensland Cowboys on Friday. Like so many ...

Everything that is wrong with the Warriors was summed up by the first try, as Coen Hess isolated fullback Reece Walsh to power over. But while those days of woe are a distant memory for North Queensland, it's a grim reality for the Warriors. It continued a familiar pattern, with the Warriors failing to maintain their standards week to week. The Warriors have their moments of effort and execution, but never for long enough. North Queensland are fit, fast, focused and functional. Both franchises have struggled in recent seasons and the Cowboys finished below the Warriors on the NRL ladder in both 2020 and 2021.

We just didn't have enough players that wanted to play for the jersey, attitude has been a big word we have used the last couple of weeks, and when things were tough, poor attitude came into the game. the Warriors fought really hard to stay in the contest at 12-4. We probably had eight or nine blokes on the field that had a poor attitude." The try before half-time probably broke them a little bit, but what I liked is the fact we were able to rein it in and play some disciplined footy for long periods in that second half." "Really pleased to play the way we played. At the end of a well constructed shift which featured touches from several Cowboys, the Maroons back powered over Reece Walsh to finish.
