Carín León Brings Quality, Party Vibe to Hard Rock Live Florida Show (Billboard)

Regional Mexican star Carin Leon played a stand out show at Hard Rock Live in South Florida.

Since then, León — the f We found out, for example, that he lost his virginity to “You’re the One I Love” (Sigues Siendo Tu in Spanish). By the way, if you ever need incentive to buy a really beautiful cowboy hat, go to a León show. Let’s please change paradigms about regional “Mexican music.” Seeing a sold-out Hard Rock arena – a venue that’s traditionally reserved for pop, rock and alternative acts — was proof enough that the music can go wide beyond its traditional stages, and that there’s a premium audience willing to pay to watch a good show. 4), he played a near sold-out date to a euphoric crowd at Miami’s Hard Rock Live arena, extremely rare for a regional Mexican act in South Florida, where regional Mexican fans are scarce and major artists in the genre rarely play in venues in or near Miami.

The E92 BMW M3 Lime Rock Park Is a Sports Car Higher Truth (Jalopnik)

With time and technology marching on, the last naturally aspirated M3 is a BMW high-water mark.

Ultimately, when it comes to in-car tech, 2013 was a long time ago, and the E92 arguably feels the oldest when it comes to this area. I love that car and hold it as the platonic ideal of what a sports car should be. A few years ago, I promised myself that the next car I buy would be a 997-generation Porsche 911, and I meant it. This is arguably the biggest thing that separates this car from the M3s and M4s that followed it. The Lime Rock Park gets an Alcantara steering wheel, which is just a recipe for grossness after a few months of skin-oil buildup. When it comes to the interior, the E92 is ultimately just a nicely equipped 3-series. Not only is it an incredibly free-breathing and responsive engine, it’s also likely to be the last M3 without forced induction, and that alone makes it worthy of celebration. The real thing that makes the S65 legendary, though, is the sound. It’s unbelievably fast and competent, but it doesn’t feel fun in the same way as the E92. The Lime Rock Park edition comes with the M Performance accessory exhaust system, which is not only a bit louder (though not annoyingly so), but also accentuates the right frequencies, making the engine sound both angrier and sweeter at high revs. It also makes the experience more controllable, since you’re a little less likely to overwhelm the rear tires with a sudden poke of the throttle. I’ve already written about my experiences with the [1973 3.0 CSL](https://jalopnik.com/driving-a-1973-bmw-3-0-csl-is-the-best-way-to-meet-a-he-1849462033) and [1988 E28 M5](https://jalopnik.com/bmw-s-first-m5-might-still-be-the-best-of-them-all-1849475059), but the E92 M3 is a model I’d driven before, albeit years ago.

NSW's Sydney rock oyster supplies are being decimated by a ... (Time Out Sydney)

The entire oyster crop in Port Stephens has been lost to QX disease.

A survey by NSW Primary Industries indicates that the QX outbreak is currently contained to Port Stephens, which will be a relief to the state’s largest oyster farms on the South Coast around Merimbula and the Sapphire Coast. The impacts of this mass die-off could be felt by consumers for years, as it is likely to take that long for the oyster beds in this area to recover. One of the quintessential flavours of Sydney is under threat and it could have major impacts on supply for years to come.

Get To Know: powerful rock 'n roll pair Loretta Miller and Ruby Jones (Tone Deaf)

Miller and Jones just released the single 'Eighteen', a rip-roaring number with a serious point about the way women are treated in the music industry as ...

I’m so keen to return to the U.S., I miss it a lot. The moon has its force over the earth and life, and the dog is a lowly servant to the whims of its master. I love working with my friends and musicians that I admire and respect. I wouldn’t be able to get on the stage, I guess… The closest thing I can muster is that I am very slowly and ineffectively learning Spanish. This song isn’t really about the celestial heavens, but I was watching a lot of that show at the time, and I felt like it’d be a good line for a song. The title of the song is a reference to my favourite Fleetwood Mac song ‘Silver Springs’. RJ: The older I get, the more gratitude I have for living in such a fabulous city. Touring the world with Ruby and my friends. It felt like the right time to put out a duet – I’d just released my first record and Loretta is about to release hers. I think it’s really gross how women are pushed out of the industry after 25, and it also makes me sad because I know we as a community are missing out on some amazing music because of this “ageing out” phenomenon. “Ultimately, ‘Eighteen’ is a rollicking and anthemic celebration of female friendship on the road,” Jones says about the track.

Jim Rock, executive director of the Lake Area Alliance, initiated the first Partner in Education between Our Lady Queen of Heaven and a local business.

“The skills and talents you have learned during your working years do not need to be retired when you retire. “Having the means and the opportunity to help others is not only a right, it is an honor. “I would encourage those that are retired, about to retire or are only partially employed, to find an opportunity to share their talents and time for the betterment of our community. “I would suggest that people think about what things are important to them and what they care about the most. “There is always something that can be done for others, but in the last two years, the needs in Southwest Louisiana have been off the charts.” Projects he is volunteering his time include the McNeese LNG Center of Excellence and the I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge Task Force.

The 8 Best Rock Bands That Got Their Start in the '80s (American Songwriter)

Founded in 1987 by Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt, Green Day has continued to evolve with the rock and punk scenes all while maintaining their cheeky nature. Since their genesis in 1983, the Chili Peppers have won six Grammy Awards, become Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famers, and are the proud owners of a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Famous Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl joined Nirvana in 1990, but founding members Kurt Cobain and bassist Krist Novoselic created the band in 1987 in Aberdeen, Washington. Unfortunately, Nirvana’s legacy is also plagued by the tragedy of Cobain’s suicide. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are one of the most successful alternative rock bands. the Extra-Terrestrial, The Breakfast Club, and Return of the Jedi. Bon Jovi has been making music since 1983 and first rose to global recognition in 1986 with their third album Slippery When Wet. And, quite frankly, there’s nothing like hearing the guitar openings on “Sweet Child O’ Mine” or “Welcome To The Jungle” to get your adrenaline goin’. The 1980s saw the age of the blockbuster film flourish in theaters across the United States.

Rock + Metal Bands Who Don't Have a Bassist (Loudwire)

The bass guitar is on the Mount Rushmore of instruments for rock and metal bands, but that dosen't mean a band always has a bassist in the group.

[Guitars](https://www.bassox.com/are-bassists-necessary/) - "One solution to this is a 7-string guitar, which has an added low B string, which increases the guitar’s deep range." Another solution is a [Baritone guitar](https://eastwoodguitars.com/blogs/news/baritone-guitar-guide-what-you-need-to-know). [Keyboards and Piano](https://www.bassox.com/are-bassists-necessary/) - "A typical piano has 88 keys, which means it has a range of more than 7 octaves. That's when the Fender Electric Instrument Company began making the [Precision Bass](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fender_Precision_Bass), a mass produced electric bass that had the general shape of today's modern guitar. This was a massive downsize from the huge and heavy upright bass that had been the standard bass instrument in popular music for decades before that. There are some bands out there, even a couple legendary ones, that prove that you don't have to have one of the four staple tools (guitar, bass, drum, keys) to make great music.

Chappelle asked Rock: “Did that shit hurt?” Rock replied: “Goddam right … “Fuck your hostage video,” said Rock, who also referred to the actor as “Suge Smith” – a comparison to the notorious, currently imprisoned Death Row Records executive Suge Knight. Comedians Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle recently performed at London's O2 Arena and the duo talked about their respective onstage incidents.

This infuriated Smith who walked up to the Oscars stage and slapped Rock. The comedian, who was attacked on stage in May, said that post the traumatic incident, he is weary about performing on stage because he can no longer tell if someone in the audience will be hostile. The Men in Black star added, “I will say to you, Chris, I apologise to you. Will Smith uploaded an apology video in July, reflecting on his behaviour. The comic certainly takes pride in aspects of his behaviour others might find reprehensible as he speaks happily about cheating on his wife and visits to former boxer Floyd Mayweather’s Las Vegas strip club. He described how Smith had created ‘the impression of a perfect person for 30 years’ before letting the mask slip to ‘show he was as ugly as the rest of us’ – an accidental display of the true man that the stand-up is drawn to. In the retelling, the comic makes a couple of offhand jokes about his reputation for transphobia – but thankfully avoided getting on his divisive soapbox about the issue for the rest of the set. He spoke about being attacked at the Hollywood Bowl in May – an incident that could have ended badly given the stage invader had a knife and the security crew were armed. With cigarette in hand and leaning forward on the monitor speakers, his cool baritone makes the vast arena seem as intimate as a local bar. She’s not the only easy target Rock swiped at – material about Donald Trump recommending bleach to combat Covid seemed especially easy and dated – and there was a bit too much on the Kardashians for those of us who don’t follow the family saga.

Chris Rock Addresses Jada GI Jane Joke for First Time at UK Show (22 Words)

Chris Rock has finally addressed the joke he made about Jada Smith back in March, which lead to the infamous Oscars slap...

I have reached out to Chris, and the message that came back is that he is not ready to talk and when he is, he will reach out. Then 10 minutes before he was about to get the biggest award… I hope he doesn’t put his mask back on again and lets his real face breathe. I see myself in both men,” he said. he acted like he was back in Philadelphia. My behavior was unacceptable, and I am here whenever you are ready to talk,” he said. Rock responded by telling the crowd at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena: “God damn right… Jada had nothing to do with it,” he confessed. “I was fogged out by that point. “And I’m not going to try and unpack all of that right now, but I can say to all of you that there is no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave in that moment,” he added. When she was asked what she would say to Smith, she said: “I have no idea what I would say other than, ‘What in the world were you thinking?’ Because you did a slap, but so many things could have happened. Chris could have stepped back and fallen.
