iPhone 14: What to expect at Apple's 'far out' event - CNN (CNN)

Apple is expected to debut its iPhone 14 lineup at the company's annual September keynote event on Wednesday.

Currently, the regular, non-mini iPhone 13 starts at $799, the iPhone 13 Pro starts at $999 and the iPhone 13 Pro Max starts at $1,099. It reported a nearly 11% decline in profits during the three months ending in June, compared to the same period a year ago. Apple is expected to go big with the iPhone 14 — literally. Apple watchers are also getting excited about a potential major camera quality upgrade with the iPhone 14 — possibly one that can shoot 8K video. The rumor mill also suggests that Apple might ditch its cheaper, mini-sized iPhone in the 14 lineup so that they don't compete with iPhone SE sales. This year's invitation featured a night sky with a constellation of stars forming the Apple logo, leading some to speculate there will be major camera upgrades on iPhones to allow for better nighttime or long-distance photography.

Decoding the secrets inside Apple's event invitations (The Verge)

Apple hides secrets inside its event invitations. We looked through more than 20 years of invitations to decode how Apple does it and what you should really ...

The best use of this new layer of invite, though, was the November 2020 “ [One more thing](https://www.theverge.com/2020/11/2/21546136/apple-event-date-time-november-10th-one-more-thing-arm-mac-silicon)” event invite. This category also encompasses Apple’s only repeated taglines: 2006’s “ [It’s showtime](https://www.macrumors.com/2006/09/05/its-showtime-september-12th-2006/)” and 2019’s “ [It’s show time](https://www.theverge.com/2019/3/11/18260515/apple-tv-service-march-25th-event-streaming-announcement-invitation),” referring to the release of the original Apple TV and the announcement of Apple TV Plus. Then there’s the subtle (and admittedly maybe a bit of a stretch) April 2021 “ [Spring loaded](https://www.theverge.com/2021/4/13/22310826/apple-april-20th-event-date-rumors-ipad-pro-macbook-tv-airtags)” invite. [Time flies](https://www.theverge.com/2020/9/8/21405307/apple-september-2020-event-date-time-watch-ipad-time-flies)” event invite, depicting a multihued blue Apple logo unraveling to form the date of the event before reforming once again. And one of my favorites, the September 2014 “ [Wish we could say more](https://www.theverge.com/2014/8/28/6078801/apple-officially-holding-event-september-9th-wish-we-could-say-more)” event invite included a subtle shadow casting off the leaf of the Apple logo, evoking a sundial and alluding to the eventual Apple Watch announcement. [Hi, speed](https://www.theverge.com/2020/10/6/21498218/apple-fall-iphone-12-event-october-13th)” invite showed an Apple logo centered in a circle, which turned out to be a replica of the bottom of the HomePod Mini. A few years later, Apple was back at it with its March 2016 “ [Let us loop you in”](https://www.theverge.com/2016/3/10/11193940/apple-spring-iphone-ipad-event-march-21-let-us-loop-you-in) invite, which filled the Apple logo with shades of gold and rose gold that ended up reflecting the colors of the new iPhone SE. [See you on the 7th](https://www.theverge.com/2016/8/29/12429510/apple-iphone-7-event-date-announced)” for its September 2016 event. And the September 2015 “ [Hey Siri, give us a hint](https://www.theverge.com/2015/8/27/9214107/apple-iphone-6s-event-invite)” event invite directly imaged Siri’s new hill-and-valley, brightly colored waveform, nodding at the forthcoming Siri remote for the Apple TV. “ [Come see what 2011 will be the year of](https://www.macrumors.com/2011/02/23/apple-issues-invitations-for-march-2nd-media-event-to-introduce-next-generation-ipad/)” accompanied by the image of an iPad. [This should brighten everyone’s day](https://www.theverge.com/2013/9/3/4689266/apple-iphone-event-september-10th-official)” event invite, with colorful polka dot-like circles sprinkled in the background of the invitation. [Hint: it’s not a Mac](https://twitter.com/tfadell/status/1519896418152034304?lang=en),” the invite read.

What to expect from the Apple event 2022 — iPhone 14, AirPods Pro ... (Laptop Mag)

Wondering what products are set to be revealed at the upcoming Sept. 7 Apple event? You've come to the right place!

The most interesting rumor about the Apple Watch Series 8 is the introduction of a new Pro variant. What I'm most excited about is the AirPods Pro 2's "Find My" rumor. The iPhone 14 Pro Max shares the same display size as the iPhone 14 Plus. The iPhone 14 is the star of the show, and it's reportedly coming with a host of interesting new features, but the Pro models, not the entry-level variants, are getting all of the eye-catching goodies. These will also be featured on the Watch Pro. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro have 6.1-inch screens. It would have to truly push the envelope in terms of health monitoring (e.g. Of course, the highly anticipated [iPhone 14](https://www.laptopmag.com/features/iphone-14-everything-we-know-so-far) line will get unveiled.
