Man shoots, kills Pit Bull Terrier in the Morena neighborhood (The San Diego Union-Tribune)

The man claimed self defense in the shooting, which happened in the neighborhood south of the University of San Diego.

The Humane Society said the male dog was about 2 years old. The dog was reportedly not on a leash. The shooting was reported about 9:25 a.m.
