For its first festivals since 2020, Laneway has curated another impressive lineup - including Finneas, Fontaines DC and Fred again..., too.

In Australia, the festival will kick off at Brisbane Showgrounds on Saturday, February 4, then head to Sydney Showground on Sunday, February 5 — one of Laneway's new 2023 venues. Also on the list: just Laneway being back and livening up late summer in general. [St Jerome's Laneway Festival](https://lanewayfestival.com/) will return to Brisbane, Sydney, Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth between Saturday, February 4—Sunday, February 12. We're ready to celebrate some of the finest artists of right now at Laneway this summer.

Though they hinted at “something special in 2021”, no major events materialised. The festival’s 2023 edition will be its first following the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions in Australia. [Laneway would not proceed in 2022](https://www.nme.com/en_au/news/music/laneway-festival-confirms-it-will-not-go-ahead-in-2022-teases-return-next-year-3164425), though organisers said they had started planning a 2023 edition, additionally expressing that “there’s an optimism and confidence that things are returning to normal quite soon”. The touring festival begins its trek in Auckland’s Albert Park on January 30, before starting its Australian run at the Brisbane Showgrounds on February 4. The festival will then make stops in Sydney, Adelaide and Melbourne before finishing its run in Perth’s Wellington Square on February 12. New Zealand Laneway fans are in for a treat as the much-loved summer festival is returning to Kiwi shores after a three-year break.

Fans will also be treated to the talented songwriter and producer, Finneas. Joining the trio on the festival stage is the patron saint of sad girls Bridgers who will not only bring her guitar and skeleton suit but an irresistible brand of dreamy indie-pop. Meanwhile it's a great time to be a Joji fan. The singer and producer who has collaborated with Kiwi musician Benee among others, has a reputation for providing vast and cinematic live shows and promises to give Laneway fans a "glimpse of something special". CityMag asked Laneway’s management about the likelihood of a stage dedicated to local South Australian artists at next year’s event, a la the Girls Rock! In 2014, the Adelaide iteration of St Jerome’s Laneway Festival left its historical home of the University of South Australia’s City West Campus for the cool waterside locale of Port Adelaide. One day after announcing the Adelaide leg of 2023 St Jerome’s Laneway Festival would return to the CBD from Port Adelaide, the event has dropped its lineup for next year.
