The Constellation Cup is still on the line after the Australian Diamonds beat the Silver Ferns 62-47 in the third netball Test in Melbourne.

Slipping 10 goals in arrears, the play-making Selby-Rickit helped shooter Grace Nweke find her groove with quick off-loads and a real sense of purpose in a bid to shake off the relentless Australian defenders. On the back foot from the outset on Wednesday night in Melbourne, the Silver Ferns worked through their entire playing contingent and multiple combinations in a bid to blunt a rampant Australia, who turned on their best form of the series to haul themselves back into contention, but ultimately were outplayed for much of the match. "They've played against Jamaica's Jhaniele Fowler at the Commonwealth Games, and there's no one more prominent than her in the goal shooting circle. It'll be nice to be in a normal routine." The trip home is well overdue for Australia – it's been nearly three years since they've played a test there. Toeava's absence will mean a new strategy, with Maddy Gordon, Whitney Souness and perhaps Kimiora Poi stepping into the wing attack bib. She won't be part of the Australian tests, but Taurua says she's proved herself. "When we kept ball in hand it meant we could push ourselves forward.

The Diamonds have taken a huge step towards reclaiming the Constellation Cup, returning to form with a dominant 62-47 win over New Zealand on Wednesday ...

The Diamonds have made a couple of changes to their starting line-up from Game 2, with Sophie Garbin replacing Cara Koenen at goal shooter and Jo Weston coming in for the injured Sunday Aryang at goal defence. If the Silver Ferns go on to claim Game 3 and take a 3-0 series lead, it will be the first time since way back in 2006 that the Diamonds will have lost three games in a row. The Diamonds need to win the remaining two games by a combined margin of at least 13 points to reclaim the Constellation Cup, and a double figure victory here in Game 3 would go a long away to eating away at that deficit. The Diamonds have made the perfect start and lead 31-22 at halftime in Melbourne. The Diamonds didn't wear the Hancock logo on their uniform in Game 3 and let their netball do the talking. The Diamonds needed to win the remaining two games by a combined margin of at least 13 goals to win back the Constellation Cup on goal difference aggregate.
