The Apollonians to the Dionysians, Harper and Ethan quietly read in bed or work on their laptops — while Daphne and Cameron are getting railed (and railing, respectively). [One episode in](https://www.vulture.com/article/the-white-lotus-recap-season-2-episode-1-ciao.html), and the vacationing couples in season two of [The White Lotus](https://www.vulture.com/article/the-white-lotus-season-2-hbo-series-review.html) are already clearly delineated. They cavort and fool around, clearly audible to Harper (Aubrey Plaza) and Ethan (Will Sharpe).
The White Lotus returns with a fresh new cast of jetsetters, a Sicillian location, and murder(s) to unpack.
It makes for a more nuanced watch as all of the players seem more evenly matched in their boorish behavior which earns them all parity when it comes to the odds of any of them ending up floating dead in the ocean. White seems to push Albie into the toxic masculinity of his family and ask if he will forge new ground or succumb to their legacy as he’s tempted himself. The film is co-financed by Universal Pictures and Nintendo and will be released worldwide by Universal Pictures. The Super Mario Bros. Here's how the Resident Evil 4 Remake compares to the original RE4.](/videos/resident-evil-4-remake-vs-original-graphics-comparison) [The Super Mario Bros. It’s a far slower burn of a cumulative story, but it’s achieving less garish extremes which is welcome in distinguishing this season as an entirely different and worthwhile experience. Plaza is especially good as the bristly cactus of the group who isn’t wrong for having her haunches up in their company. Woven amongst their stories are the adventures of two local young women, Lucia (Simona Tabasco) and Mia (Beatrice Grannò). Lucia has been booked as a prostitute by an incoming guest so she talks Mia into joining her to take advantage of the hotel luxuries during their downtime. The exploration of the Di Grasso men is a bit more traditional with them embodying the season’s overall theme of infidelity. Murray Abraham), middle-aged Dom (Michael Imperioli), and his college grad son, Albie (Adam DiMarco); the wealthy, married vacationing couples, Cameron (Theo James) and Daphne Babcock (Meghann Fahy), and Harper (Aubrey Plaza) and Ethan Spiller (Will Sharpe); and Jennifer Coolidge’s flighty and needy Tanya McQuoid and her now husband, Greg (Jon Gries), who are the only carry-over characters from Season 1. When The White Lotus Season 1 came to its heightened, histrionic conclusion, I was among those who wondered if a second season was needed or warranted. As much as I enjoyed the blackly comedic exploration of the rich eating everything good around them, what else was left to tell?
Ah, the staticky fuzz of the HBO intro. I'm home. Okay, so the conceit is that there are multiple White Lotus hotels, and this one is off the coast of Italy.
- Jennifer Coolidge needs to leave this man pronto. - Flashback time to the start of the vacation. - Oh, God, the Meghann crew is drinking Aperol spritzes and fighting about employment law, due process, and #MeToo. - F. Murray Abraham takes a hard fall outside and his grandson has to help him out. Great PSA: The It doesn’t seem to slow down his horniness, though. - Ooh, they’re right by Mount Etna. There’s a whole new cast of characters this time (with a return from [Jennifer Coolidge](https://www.vogue.com/article/jennifer-coolidge-interview-the-white-lotus-the-watcher-shotgun-wedding), thank the goddess), but the sense of entitlement is still very much the same on the pristine shores of Italy. She does not look happy to be on vacation with Meghann Fahy and their husbands, and she’s also wearing an uncomfortable-looking suit that, though probably Chanel, doesn’t scream vacationwear. Ugh, I need to Duolingo. [The White Lotus](https://www.vogue.com/article/the-white-lotus-kids-are-the-best-part-of-the-show), but happily enough, I was wrong.
The Season 2 premiere of HBO's 'The White Lotus' was viewed by 1.5 people on its first night.
It went on to tie “Ted Lasso” as the second-most nominated program at the 2022 Emmys and won in the limited series category as well as the limited series supporting actor categories (Jennifer Coolidge and Murray Bartlett). After the first episode of The White Lotus Season 2, who do we think was found floating in the Ionian Sea?
As we stated at the outset, things are just getting started and the situation is a very fluid one. Surely Tanya doesn't have rescuer's remorse and wants to send her ill-tempered husband to meet his maker — or even worse, get rid of her pesky assistant, who, despite being instructed to stay in her room for the week and not ruin her romantic escape, keeps popping up everywhere to pursue a romantic relationship with Albie. The Hollywood "muckity-muck," as Bert calls him, is leaving a tumultuous relationship with his exasperated estranged wife back in the States and is more than open to finding some local companionship with mercurial local escorts, Lucia (Simona Tabasco) and Mia (Beatrice Granno). Back for another stay at their favorite resort, Tanya and Greg Hunt (Coolidge and Gries) are looking for a romantic getaway, but things are off to a rocky start. Maybe a week at the White Lotus is exactly what she needs to forget about her work as an employment lawyer representing the sexually harassed, discriminated, and wrongfully terminated. With a whole new cast of characters to choose from, the prevailing theory will be fluid and change from week to week.
Lessons from vacation — and monsters from White Lotus — highlight this week's Monday Finish (plus a little golf, too.)
It’s a strong field as LPGA pros gun for late-season CME Globe points, with Danielle Kang, Minjee Lee and Nasa Hataoka among the big names in attendance. [Radmor](https://radmorgolf.com/collections/fall-winter-2022-the-great-escape), arguably the coolest apparel brand in golf, just dropped its fall line. 1](https://golfweek.usatoday.com/2022/10/31/atthaya-thitikul-no-1-world-jin-young-ko/), joining 17-year-old Lydia Ko, who accomplished the feat in 2015. It wasn’t one of the PGA Tour’s beefier fields, to put it mildly. They say they remain in talks with broadcast partners and they’ll dodge things like major championships and the NFL season. But it’s clear that LIV pulled off the mega-millions event they’d planned for all season, distributing a whole boatload of cash in the process. But that was to be expected during football season, and while limited interest seems like a strike against LIV, it might not be quite so simple. With every action comes an opposite reaction, and it’s worth tipping our cap to Scheffler for his run at the top. Plenty of golf courses are parts of resorts, and even those that aren’t remain firmly in the service industry. [last week’s CJ Cup](https://golf.com/news/rory-mcilroy-gave-golf-fans-everything/), where McIlroy out-dueled Jon Rahm and a star-studded field down the stretch in what must have been the PGA Tour’s best event of the fall season. And as we arrived at our hotel via water-taxi, welcomed by a small group of waving Hilton employees, that’s where my mind went: Season 1, Episode 1 of White Lotus, when hotel manager Armond (think Ian Baker-Finch with a mustache) and a gaggle of smiling staffers line up to greet a new group of guests. Monsters who take full advantage of employees’ place in the guest-staffer dynamic.
