New footage from the sequel to the highest-grossing movie of all time has been released on YouTube.

Cameron is also working on a fourth and fifth film, for projected release in 2026 and 2028 respectively. Cameron has spent years developing and shooting Avatar’s sequels, with photography for The Way of Water starting in 2017, simultaneously with a third film in the series which is due for release in 2024.

Avatar: The Way of Water will debut exclusively in theaters on December 16. As specific details from the film continue to remain a mystery, with very little revealed from the film's marketing so far, there's still plenty of room for speculation from fans. Besides revealing some of the film's characters, the poster also features a closer look at a new creature in the franchise, also showcased in the film's trailer.
