Citroën has created an off-road spec My Ami Buggy with plans to build 1000 of the quirky electric vehicles.
The My Ami Cargo, with its payload of up to 140kg, a maximum load capacity of 400-litres and tight 7.20m turning circle is designed for businesses doing light, short-run delivers and transport in crowded cities and urban areas. Unlike the first 50 that were offered only in France, the new batch will be available to many of the other European markets where the Ami is currently sold. But it is a different story in Europe, where the category is a popular one for providing more appropriately sized local town and inner urban transport.

Fiat is in talks with Stellantis partners to build its own version of the Ami quadricycle.
That’s the kind of discussion I’ve been having with my colleagues at Citroen and Opel.” Stellantis recently announced a further €300million (£265m) investment for the Kenitra factory in Morocco where the Ami is produced, potentially lifting capacity there to around 50,000 quadricycles per year. [Rocks-e](https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/citroen/355835/new-opel-rocks-e-revealed-citroen-ami-based-micro-ev), along with a revised front grille and a new wheel design. And FIAT boss Olivier François believes that it could help his brand to deliver better urban mobility – one of its key mission briefs within the wider Stellantis group. Rumours last year suggested that selected Italian dealers have already been shown a prototype. François says that Fiat would probably aim to take a more radical approach.
Fiat is working on a rebadged version of Citroen's tiny electric car, featuring a fabric soft top.
When it does arrive, the Fiat Topolino will be firmly targeted at city dwellers, offering an affordable alternative to a full-size car for short-distance commutes. While this only provides a range of up to 46 miles, a full charge can be achieved via a standard three-pin plug in just under three hours. While Fiat is yet to properly unveil the Topolino, we don’t expect there to be a huge visual difference between it and the Citroen Ami of which it’ll share almost all of its parts.
