The situation became more shocking when Atrioc didn’t seem to notice the image and remained on the page for an uncomfortable amount of time. A deepfake is a photo or video of someone where the face is digitally altered to appear as someone else. As the backlash continued, Atrioc went on stream with his wife to discuss the situation. People were more concerned with how Pokimane and other streamers felt about Atrioc and others looking at fake nudes of them. He explained that he’s been trying to “create a pattern of behavior” on his streams that would help women feel safe on Twitch. The streaming community responded with anger that Atrioc would even be looking at fake nudes of popular streamers, many of which he knew in some capacity.

xQc has once again apologized for sniffing Pokimane's chair during a stream last year in light of recent Atrioc female-streamer controversy.

It was kind of weird. It was pretty weird. I’m not going to lie to you, it was pretty weird. During his late September 2022 stream, xQc proceeded to move his camera towards her chair and act as though he was sniffing the bottom of the seat after she left the room. Admittedly, he now recognizes the impact of this behavior and how it can influence his predominantly younger audience. When going live on January 30, xQc’s chat was quick to remind him of his past controversy with Pokimane before he criticized Atrioc’s situation.

Popular Female Twitch Streamers Targeted In Deepfake ... (Kotaku)

A Twitch streamer getting caught red-handed ignited a conversation around the treatment of female streamers and deepfake porn.

QTCinderella is based in California (as are several other streamers who were reportedly targeted by the deepfake creator), so if she wants to sue the fuck out of them she is within her rights based on state laws. If the creator in question didn’t pull all of their content down, it’s unclear if any of the victims would be able to use the legal system’s current laws to effectively get it removed themselves. Chen, a California-based lawyer I spoke with over the phone, it could be difficult for the victim to sue any defendant outside of the state. I reached out to QTCinderella, Sweet Anita, and Twitch for comment, but did not receive a response back before publication. She’s right, she shouldn’t have to pay money to get fake, explicit images of herself taken down, and what’s even more disconcerting is how difficult it is to get deepfake pornography removed from the internet. [Vice has reported](https://www.vice.com/en/article/jgp7ky/atrioc-deepfake-porn-apology) that the deepfake creator in question has removed all content from their page and issued an apology. “It should not be part of my job to have to pay money to get this stuff taken down,” she said, before promising to sue the people behind the deepfakes. But Sweet Anita lives in the United Kingdom. [morph audioMorph Earphones](https://go.linkby.com/JGQUNKOC) This made matters worse for the affected women, who learned they were on the deepfake site only because of Ewing’s slip-up. It’s unclear if this person’s content exists anywhere else on the internet, but it’s not unlikely. [video of his apology](https://clips.twitch.tv/EndearingFaintHamsterPMSTwin-6bz0G5z9knBefMGL)—in which he claims to have clicked an ad on PornHub because he was curious—quickly gained traction online.
