Donkey Business | Ep. 196 | Circle Round (WBUR)

Jennifer Hale (Stars Wars: The Clone Wars, Mass Effect) and Connor Ratliff (Dead Eyes, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) star in this tricky tale about donkeys, ...

Keep watering the tree, and giving it plenty of sun, and I promise: you will get what you deserve. he was going to get exactly what he deserved: When Enzo came stomping over to her little red house, with Luigi in tow, Carmela was out in the yard, watering a little tree in a pot. The minute I woke up, I went racing to Luigi’s stable! NARRATOR: Now, as you can probably guess, the truth is that Carmela had taken some of the coins she’d gotten from Enzo yesterday and glued them onto the tree. I just have to do a little something first. Would you like to take a walk, fella? She brought the honey, spoon, and coin out to the yard, where her old gray donkey was grazing on a tiny patch of grass. First, she went to her kitchen and found a spoon and a half-eaten jar of honey. I have to commend you on doing so well! NARRATOR: Carmela knew she had to do something. You helped a family member do the laundry.

Toumba: Petals EP (Pitchfork)

On his debut EP for Hessle Audio, the Jordanian producer brings regional rhythms and Arabic maqam scales to cutting-edge club music.

“Petals” is the EP’s standout. The rhythm is deliciously—perilously—entertaining. Both Rosefinch’s “Multipack of Limes” and Petals’ “Istibtan” reference the writhing keyboard melodies of traditional Jordanian wedding music, while Petals’ “Identity Crisis” and Rosefinch’s “Sa7rawi” share the two-stepping dembow rhythm of dancehall and reggaeton. And “Identity Crisis” uses the Arabic maqam modal system and a refined collection of electronic whirrs and clicks to suggest a Jordanian “Hazzeh” incorporates elements of dabke, a Levantine Arab folk music, over a vicious electronic bassline. This track demonstrates Toumba’s skill as a sound designer particularly well: The drums punch with clinical efficiency, and the synths are warm and perfectly rounded, with just enough space in the mix for each element to relax and resonate.

Treasure Island Fans v Faves ep 6: Josh Oakley eliminated after ... (New Zealand Herald)

The most recent elimination has left one castaway in tears and another jumping for joy.

The challenge is chicken wire and ball based and it’s a tricky one. Devoy’s sad she couldn’t save him and he’s forgotten something too, with a small bag - his prize from his clue after the following elimination - being spotted tied to the bridge as he says his farewells. Then once away from Green, McLean decides that he and Savali should try and throw the faceoff challenge and get Oakley and Green put up against each other for elimination, by the other team. Once at the faceoff, Wardie opts out of the challenge, sighting a sunburnt shoulder and Devoy gets an official telling-off for sneaking out to see son Oakley. We are furious at the thought of Green, television’s newly minted bug specialist, going home and taking his banter with him. It’s a low blow and everyone in camp knows it and honestly, we feel a bit uncomfy now. Suddenly Savali, a man of our heart, knows he can’t throw the challenge when Maccas is on the line. In team fans, Oakley takes an interesting approach and just starts hitting the puzzle when it won’t budge. Then it’s charity challenge time and the name of the game is blindfolded dress-ups. McLean is a terrible liar and Savali knows he’s sending him in totally unarmed. Yee takes home the $5000 prize for her charity Autism NZ and it’s clear how much this means to her, being the mother of a child who is on the spectrum herself. Wardie, who is not a subtle man, then very obviously searches for it, visibly shakes and hides it in his pants.
