WWE Elimination Chamber 2023: Roman Reigns Winning And 5 ... (Forbes)

WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 should be a game-changing night for Sami Zayn, Roman Reigns, Rhea Ripley and more.

One of the most common complaints among WWE fans is that the company tends to focus on the same stars at the top of the card, particularly in a women’s division that has been run by the same handful of talents over the past half-decade plus. the reunited duo of Zayn and Owens to main event night one of WrestleMania 39. That would generate absolutely massive heat on Jey, the Usos as a tag team and The Bloodline as a whole. It’s just as improbable that Cena will be losing to Theory at Mania, even though that’s the best long-term move for both Theory and WWE as a whole. While Belair is a tremendous performer, it feels like, after nearly a year, her title reign is losing steam and should come to an end soon. [nearly took place](https://dailyddt.com/2016/03/13/wwe-rumors-brock-lesnar-vs-bray-wyatt-happening-after-wrestlemania/) in 2016 but now appears to be slated for a spot at WrestleMania 39. Ripley pins Phoenix, a WWE Hall of Famer and legendary performer. Lashley, and given that WrestleMania 39 is right around the corner, it’s likely that whoever wins this bout is going to battle Wyatt at WWE’s flagship show. Because he doesn’t need the belt for a match with Cena. WWE will be looking to continue its recent wave of momentum after months of strong storytelling, a solid Royal Rumble event, [impressive TV viewership](https://www.wrestlinginc.com/1192379/wwe-raw-viewership-down-for-february-6-episode/) and the early stages of highly anticipated WrestleMania feuds, like Reigns vs. Both stars are red hot as performers, and though Lashley deserves better than having no direction at WrestleMania, he’s going to have to take the fall at Elimination Chamber to set up the Lesnar vs. Bobby Lashley highlighting a show filled with blockbuster matches that will set the stage for WrestleMania 39.

The John Report: WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 Review – TJR ... (TJR Wrestling)

It's WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 featuring Roman Reigns facing Sami Zayn, two Chamber matches, a mixed tag and Lesnar-Lashley one more time!

Cross climbed to the top of the pod and hit a cross body on the three other women in the match. Natalya threw Liv into the pod a few times with the crowd chanting “one more time” ahead of the last one. Raquel sent Liv into the turnbuckle. Cross sent Natalya out of the ring and the same for Liv onto the padded area. Cross hit running splashes on all three women and avoided a charging Raquel, who hit the turnbuckle. They left the ring onto the padded area where Liv slammed Natalya into the cage a few times. Liv charged leading to Natalya sending her face first into the corner of a pod. Liv Morgan was up last to a good ovation. It was time for the Women’s Elimination Chamber match with Asuka up first wearing the headgear along with the Kana-like face paint. There was no pyro display to start the show. The big story going into Elimination Chamber is that Roman Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against a former member of The Bloodline, Sami Zayn. [very loud on Smackdown](https://tjrwrestling.net/review/the-john-report-wwe-smackdown-02-17-23/) in support of Zayn and strongly against Reigns, so it should be a very vocal crowd at Elimination Chamber.

WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 is set to take place later tonight. Before the big event, we share with you our thoughts and the results from the WWE 2K22 Sim.

- Women’s Elimination Chamber – At the moment, we expect that Asuka will win the Women’s elimination chamber match. Brock is able to counter a Hurt Lock and hits an F5 before pinning Lashley for the win. - The final scheduled match of the evening is Sami Zayn vs Roman Reigns. After simulating the matches in WWE 2K22, we got the following outcomes: - Men’s US Elimination Chamber – We expect that Austin Theory will retain in order to set up a match against John Cena at Wrestlemania 39. With it rumored that the Hurt Business may be reuniting, Lashley winning could lead to a faction vs faction match at Mania; however, Lesnar losing consistently is out of the ordinary and doesn’t help him set up a match for Mania. Additionally, we could see Rhea Ripley pinning Beth Phoneix to continue her momentum toward her match against Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. We will share with you the expectations and why. The outcome of Elimination Chamber 2023 will determine some of the matches at Wrestlemania XXXIX. Sami Zayn – Singles match for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship - Match 4 – Edge and Beth Phoenix vs. At the moment, only five matches have been announced for Elimination Chamber 2023.

Montez Ford was the last to enter, meaning the Chamber was full. Both women in the ring, and they tried to out-power the other. Carmella his a kick to Morgan and Natalya landed the Sharpshooter. The men's match for the WWE United States Title is up next. Cross is a true force, using her unpredictability and the environment to her advantage. Reigns went for a Superman Punch that Zayn avoided and ended up hitting the referee instead. Zayn went to the corner and then did Roman’s locked and loaded pose before hitting him with a Superman Punch. Reigns barked at Zayn and then threw him to the ground. They got to their feet and Zayn threw punches at Reigns and then ran the ropes and knocked him down. The bell rang and then Zayn smiled and jawed at a stone-faced Reigns from across the ring. Theory eventually stood up and then Ford performed a flip dive onto him and then ran back and hit a flip dive onto Rollins on the other side of the ring. Zayn fired chips at Reigns and then ran the ropes, but Reigns dropped him with another uppercut. Back inside the ring, Zayn threw a punch at Reigns, who no-sold it, and then dropped Zayn with a punch. Gargano entered the ring and then hopped over the ropes and spiked Theory with a DDT on the way down. The fourth entrant was Damian Priest, who put Gargano down with a big boot and then worked over Rollins with kicks and a punch. The champ, Ford, Reed and Priest are in the pods, while Gargano and Rollins are about to start things off in the ring. Edge cinches in an Edgecator on Balor and Phoenix traps Ripley with the same hold. Ford just delivered a front-forward flip on Theory on one side of the ring and another onto Rollins on the opposite side. Seconds later, he puts Rollins on his shoulders and Gargano on top of Rollins for a double-stack Samoan Drop! Ford then did get caught in a dangerous Curb Stomp from Rollins onto the outside mat. The moment Montreal and the WWE Universe has been waiting for is finally here, as Sami Zayn will look to end Roman Reigns' dominance and take the "Tribal Chief's" Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at the same time.

[Wrestling Inc](https://www.wrestlinginc.com/1203109/backstage-news-on-original-plans-for-sami-zayn-at-wwe-elimination-chamber/)), original plans—which Meltzer claims have since changed–called for Jey Uso to betray Zayn, leading to a tag team showdown pitting Zayn and Owens against The Usos at WrestleMania. Despite a potential Zayn victory being scripted as the biggest upset in WWE history, Sami Zayn has emerged as enough of a ratings draw in recent months to make his Cinderella Story a real possibility. Through the strength of The Bloodline storyline, it was Jey Uso, not Zayn, who drew the biggest quarter-hour rating. Not only did fans accept Cody Rhodes as a top star, they embraced him—even when WWE dared to put the pair in the same ring together this past Monday on Raw. With goodwill restored between WWE and its fanbase during the Triple H Era, there were zero instances of fans hijacking WWE storylines. The Bell Centre was just as hostile toward Roman Reigns as they were raucous for Sami Zayn.

The Real Winners and Losers From WWE Elimination Chamber ... (Bleacher Report)

In the end, he could not get his win, and that makes him a loser for the moment. However, he is a star and perhaps a true winner in the long term. This was the moment when the hometown hero was going to make it big or fall just short. The Montreal crowd was so loud just for the entrance of Zayn. It came off as the tactic of a lesser heel. The Street Profit made the most of his moment. Goldberg was the only other man to dominate Lesnar at this level, and this current feud has parallels with that angle. The Empress of Tomorrow needs to be treated like a top star. While Asuka is a three-time WWE women's champion, she has not come off as a top title contender most of the past year. This next month will tell a story of a dangerous woman finding her edge again fighting one of the longest reigning women's champions in history. The 2023 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view was one of the biggest nights WWE has put together in a long time. Asuka picked up a big win in the women's Elimination Chamber match, punching her ticket to WrestleMania to face Bianca Belair.

Phoenix later slipped out of taking a chair shot on the ring steps and hit a Glam Slam instead to neutralize Ripley. Does this mean we get a triple-threat match or a tag match with Lashley and Lesnar having to team against Wyatt and Uncle Howdy? Phoenix and Ripley in their first-ever meeting getting to test each other’s toughness early on felt fitting — as the crowd chanted “f—k you Dominik.” The women got plenty of time in the ring, including a super-plex and later in the match stereo powerbombs from the top turnbuckle. A Stomp from Paul allowed Austin Theory to hit the A-Town to retain and set him on a likely WrestleMania date with John Cena and adding a little spice to Rollins vs. The entertaining match also protected the other two babyfaces by having Liv Morgan pass out in the middle of the ring to a double submission from Natalya and Asuka. Morgan had one of the moves of the match, running from the top of pod to sunset-flip bomb Rodriguez off the top rope, but Carmella’ pin attempt on Rodriguez was unsuccessful. This match was down-right bonkers fun and deserving of a clean finish. Zayn hit a Superman punch and the Helluva Kick but Reigns kicked out just before three. Kevin Owens eventually appeared to the delight of the crowd – Stunning Reigns, putting Jimmy Uso through a table and Stunning Heyman. After Natalya was pinning by Carmella, Raquel Rodriguez fell victim to a double pin from Asuka and Carmella. After that, Reigns hit a running spear and Zayn still got a shoulder up leaving the undisputed champ besides himself. Will the audience push for Zayn to get another shot is the question?

Biggest Takeaways From 2023 WWE Elimination Chamber Results (Bleacher Report)

Here is a quick rundown of the results from the show: Asuka won the women's Elimination Chamber match. Bobby Lashley defeated Brock Lesnar by disqualification.

This was a series of moments that meshed together to create a cohesive story, and they had the crowd eating out of the palms of their hands. Kevin Owens came out to prevent his friend from taking any more damage once the bout was over, so the crowd was still given a reason to go home happy even if we didn't see a title change. This bout was the epitome of the phrase "Big fight feel." The Tribal Chief unloaded on his former ally with a chair before pinning him to retain the title. It could turn into a Triple Threat, but we will have to see how WWE addresses this in the coming weeks. The Tribal Chief was his usual confident self, and that made Zayn's natural underdog quality stand out even more. Whether you like him or not, it's hard to deny how good Paul has proved to be at the entertainment side of this business. It was the first time since The Yes Movement that something felt so organic. The Beast then proceeded to destroy the ringside area and take out the ref before leaving. She easily had the most dominant run in a match that included a few great performances. After years of stop-start booking, it finally feels like WWE has figured out how to use Asuka to her fullest potential. Ever since she returned during the Royal Rumble, Asuka has been working on a different level.
