New walk honours Christchurch earthquake memories 12 years on (1 News)

Twelve years ago today, the city was rocked by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake which claimed 185 lives.

"We have a lot of visitors in the central city. "We have about 30 different voices, memories of people who were in the city on February 22, 2011. Quake stories come to life with new audio walk (Mirage News)

A new digital audio experience using memories from the University of Canterbury CEISMIC archive launched today, connecting powerful quake memories to.

We built CEISMIC so that the stories of the Christchurch earthquakes wouldnโ€™t be forgotten, and this audio trail brings those stories to life.โ€ I hope this will be a tool in the process of healing and in reconciling the pre-quake city with the post-quake city we live in today. โ€œSince the borders reopened last year, weโ€™ve seen more visitors to our city who are interested in the story of the earthquakes.
