Man in custody after report of family harm in Helensville (RNZ)

A man is in custody after police responded to a report of family harm in a town northwest of Auckland.

Police said they were called to a Helensville property just before 7am. An Eagle helicopter also responded to the incident.

The charges were laid last week. The company also faced a charge of breaching the Maritime Transport Act. In a statement, Maritime NZ director Kirstie Hewlett told RNZ both the company and the individual faced one charge each of breaching the Health and Safety at Work Act.

Fletcher Building is being sued by a group of investors for alleged breaches of disclosures about the state of its business more than five years ago.

Because of course, if the Government moves urgency tonight then Wednesday is a government day and Members’ Day will disappear.” If they don’t agree the Government will resort to Urgency and the current plan for the week will be abandoned.

"Just last week the court has, in our view, cleared the way for [the] council to be able to move forward with removing the trolley bus lines," Davidson said. But Horowhenua District Council chief executive Monique Davidson said officials had become concerned the trolley bus lines were a hazard. Trolley bus rides and an accompanying museum were for decades a tourism mainstay in the town, created as a labour of love by Ian and Christina Little in the late 1980s. He said the trolley bus lines were in poor condition.
