Diablo 4 is the newest entry in the legendary dungeon-crawling action RPG. The early access beta will offer the Rogue, Barbarian and Sorcerer classes. During the open beta, Ashava will appear on March 25 at the same times. The boss will appear in the early access beta on March 18 at 10 a.m., 12 p.m., 10 p.m. Players will be able to max their characters to level 25, but can still play the beta throughout the weekend beyond that. [Diablo 4 open beta and early access beta](https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/diablo4/23916442/your-guide-to-the-diablo-iv-open-beta) started Friday.
Though some have been able to enjoy Diablo 4's early access beta, many users are running into error codes and incredibly long queue times.
[One Twitter user](https://twitter.com/SxndayTV/status/1636836948479459328) said this is par for the course with Blizzard-developed releases. The role-playing title’s open beta remains on course for the weekend of March 24-26. Hardly anyone expects beta sessions and launch days to run flawlessly, based on the precedent set by pretty much every other online-centric game in recent memory.
There are a few rewards you can earn during Diablo 4's beta, though some will come easier (and cheaper) than others.
[pre-order the game](https://us.shop.battle.net/en-us/product/diablo-iv?p=1067096). Finally, gamers who shell out for the Diablo 4 Ultimate Edition will acquire almost all of the above plus a Wings of the Creator emote. The next two rewards, the Early Voyager title and the Beta Wolf Pack cosmetic, are locked behind Level 20. This news will no doubt disappoint anyone who acquires powerful loot from the [world boss Ashava](https://www.denofgeek.com/games/diablo-4-beta-ashava-world-boss-spawn-times-and-location/), but Blizzard is providing a few consolation rewards for anyone who sticks with the beta long enough. As their names suggest, the titles are just labels players can slap next to their characters’ names, while the Beta Wolf Pack consists of a wolf pup sleeping soundly in a crib strapped to the character’s back. According to the official Blizzard news section, the Initial Casualty title is easy to acquire.
During the Diablo 4 Early Access beta, players have access to three classes: Barbarians, Rogues and Sorcerers.
The views expressed here are that of the respective authors/ entities and do not represent the views of Economic Times (ET). [Barbarians](/topic/barbarians)can easily take down waves of enemies and [excel](/topic/excel)in one-on-one fights. While Rogues have a steep learning curve, their potential is arguably the highest among the three available classes. Rogues can dominate most threats and become a powerful force in the game. The beta version of Diablo 4 has arrived, granting early access to players who have pre-ordered the game. That being said, they still require a fair amount of skill to play effectively due to their fragility and mana management concerns.
Twitch streamer Asmongold begins his journey into the Diablo 4 early access beta, only to suffer a crash and then lose his character.
Still, for those Diablo 4 players who do get the chance to play, like Asmongold, it sounds like a pretty good time. Despite the technical issues and jokes calling Diablo 4 a bad game, Asmongold praised it overall. [Diablo 4](https://gamerant.com/tag/diablo-4/) early access beta began on Friday morning but has struggled with some frustrating initial technical issues. He'd go on to play plenty of Diablo 4 smoothly, even earning his first Legendary rarity item. After spending a good amount of time making a character, one of Diablo 4's Barbarians, Asmongold has reached an early town area. To Blizzard's credit, it's communicated that there are ongoing technical problems with the beta.
Diablo IV is struggling during the Early Access beta weekend as players lineup in ridiculously long queues.
Frankly, if this goes on any longer, Blizzard should extend the closed beta by a day or two. A statement from Blizzard on the Battle.net launcher reads: “We are aware of the issues impacting Open Beta Early Access, leading to long queue times and server disconnections. The other way to get in early is via this KFC collaboration, which you also have to spend money on (though at least you get some chicken!) Either way, you’ve spent money and now you can’t play. There’s just no excuse for this kind of botched beta or the ridiculous launches we’ve seen lately. The promise Activision-Blizzard made was simple: Pre-order the game and you get an extra weekend of beta play-time before the open beta the following weekend. So far, I have to say I’m really enjoying the game—or at least I assume I would be if I could ever login and actually play it.

It’s fun, it very much feels connected to the roots of Diablo, and if it would just work for an extended period of time without kicking me out, I would already be very much addicted to it. The most impressive thing I did was an elaborate “Stronghold” I randomly found out in the world that culminated in the toughest boss fight I’ve seen in the game yet. It’s always hard to judge Diablo gameplay in the very early stages before you have many skills and good loot, but at level 15 (I’d probably be beta max at 25 right now without all the server errors), I’ve unlocked a good amount of Rogue skills, who plays like an expected mix of the original Rogue class and D3’s Demon Hunter, and have even gotten a few legendary drops, indicating perhaps D4 won’t be as stingy with those as D3 was at launch (I remember going 70 hours before my first Legendary drop in D3, an unusable quiver for my Barbarian). But you can see some of the DNA here, particularly with achievements tied to exploration of areas in the game that reward players for doing everything in a given zone. In the first thirty minutes of the game, they’ve already given us two of the most horrifying, impressive cutscenes of the entire series so far. The good news is that when you can play the Diablo 4 beta, it absolutely lives up to expectations in its early hours in terms of gameplay, aesthetics and shockingly, even storytelling, rising above past installments. It was an endless pattern all day yesterday, I’d get in, play for a while, then get booted (usually in the middle of a dungeon with no checkpoints). In terms of how Diablo 4 has evolved from past games, I am getting a whole lot of Lost Ark vibes here, the Korean, Diablo-ish MMO that Amazon recently brought to the US, but one laden with I would argue just…too much stuff and too many potentially pay-to-win elements. The game would freeze up, I’d quit and log back in only to find an hour or two of wait time ahead of me. As good as it ever has in this series. [already begun damage control](https://us.forums.blizzard.com/en/d4/t/an-update-regarding-queues-and-server-disconnects/913) for long queue times and server issues, and while this “is a beta,” this is also a beta that was sold through pre-orders. But the tone here is on point, without question.

Betas are for testing a game and finding these kinds of issues, and so it's not a surprise that this is how the Diablo IV beta is going. Next weekend will bring the open beta and even more players, though, so a lot of fixes are going to need to be applied awfully fast for that to be a smoother introduction for new players.
