Fox, the 29th seed, beat 37th seed Harris English 2 up to move to 1-0, with two birdies and an eagle enough to see off English. Fox never trailed in the match, ...

Matt Kuchar, at 44 the oldest player in the field, outlasted Viktor Hovland and won his 35th match, one short of the career tournament record held by Tiger Woods. Rickie Fowler took him down on the 17th hole, the first time Rahm has lost in the opening round. โ€œItโ€™s sort of everything, getting used to where to go to eat, getting to know some guys, getting used to the style of golf course. Golf fans react to jaw-dropping tee shot (The Comeback)

Ryan Fox produced an epic tee shot on the 13th hole of his Wednesday match at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.

Without his win on 13, English would have had the chance to tie the match on the 18th hole. [March 22, 2023] Fox, though, decided it was worth the risk. At 305 yards, the hole is certainly driveable. As such, players are often willing to try more aggressive, risky shots. In a normal round of golf, a bad shot can be costly.

Golf: Ryan Fox faces must-win after defeat at World Matchplay Golf ... (New Zealand Herald)

Ryan Fox gave up a late lead to lose his second group contest at the PGA Tour World Matchplay Golf Championships in Austin, Texas.

Fox won his first encounter - also 2 & 1 - yesterday against Harris English (1-1). Fox will need to beat seventh seed Will Zalatoris (0-2) tomorrow and have English defeat Putnam (2-0) to have any chance of reaching the final 16. A bogey for Fox on the 14th saw the match go all square before Putnam closed out the 2 & 1 win with birdies at the 15th and 17th.
