Phoenix break Melbourne hearts with 99th minute equaliser (1 News)

Grace Wisnewski's acrobatic equaliser was the latest regulation time goal in the league's 15-season history.

Maybe the pressure got to us." Today we found that goal even though we knew a draw still wasn't good enough ... Dumont was injured in the bingle, requiring a taped knee to continue. there's huge character in this team." Victory were far too classy in the first half, powered by a superb turn in midfield by Murphy. Just totally unlike what we normally do.

Grace Wisnewski scored with the final kick of the game as the Phoenix staged a dramatic comeback to draw with the defending champions.

We fell short. No we didn’t. Today we didn’t,” coach Natalie Lawrence said. But the game flipped on its head in the second half and it was the Phoenix who punished Victory’s mistakes to snatch a point at the death. Grace Wisnewski scored with the final kick of the game as Wellington Phoenix staged a dramatic comeback to draw 2-2 with defending champions Melbourne Victory in their final game of the A-League Women season. Although the result was not enough to lift the Phoenix off the bottom of the table, it could have serious consequences for Victory’s final hopes.

Jerry Foster, pioneering Arizona TV news pilot, dies at 82 (AZCentral.com)

Jerry Foster, who became Phoenix's first airborne TV news personality and whose dramatic rescues garnered high ratings, has died. He was 82.

In December 2009, at the urging of his daughter, Andryea, Foster started a Facebook page. Though he was hired by the radio station, Foster asked a photographer for the sister television station, KOOL-TV, to sneak him a film camera. “I feel I pulled it over on people," he said in the 2014 interview. Foster said that his close alignment with law enforcement and fire officials rankled other reporters in the newsroom. Foster captured footage of the man, who was hiding in a large drainage pipe, being arrested. He cut a plea deal that had him submitting to random drug tests and speaking to schools about the dangers of drugs. Years later, his daughter encouraged him to engage with people through Facebook and Foster found that people remembered his heroics, not the drug stories. Foster maintained that he had landed at Saguaro Lake and saw the baggie sitting unattended on a picnic table. As he circled and prepared to land on the school grounds, his windbreaker flew out of his helicopter. Foster had been diagnosed with lung cancer and was being cared for in a facility run by Hospice of the Valley. Foster wrote a biography called “Earthbound Misfit,” chronicling his adventures in and out of the cockpit. It was one in which he palled around with a biker gang and used drugs recreationally.

Victory still believing after ALM win over Phoenix (The West Australian)

Bruno Fornaroli and Damien Da Silva scored goals as Melbourne Victory overcame Oskar Zawada's opener for Wellington Phoenix on Saturday.

"I don't know about (being in the) finals mix ... "I dont think you'd see us playing like this if we didn't believe in ourselves. "We believe we're a good team and we believe we can push again," he said. Talay lamented handing Victory "two goals with a poor defensive setup" but insisted the Phoenix could reach their goal of a top-four position, and a first home final in eight years. We're out of the six," he said. The French defender won a header from a 76th-minute corner and pounced on the loose ball to score past a stranded Oli Sail.

We believe in ourselves, we’re a good team, and it’s down to us now.” Zawada pounced on a defensive mistake from Damien Da Silva to lob goalkeeper Paul Izzo, finding the net in his fifth straight game while taking his season total to 13. Then, Da Silva atoned for his error by heading home another corner in the 76th minute, leaving captain Alex Rufer frustrated. “It’s a big blow, but we’ve got four games left,” he said. “We were poor from set pieces and they punished us,” he told Sky Sport.
