NRL: Warriors come back from death to defeat Sharks (RNZ)

Incredible, miraculous, phenomenal, astounding. Call it what you want, the Warriors pulled off a comeback for the ages to beat the Sharks 32-30 on Sunday.

The way they came back from what would have probably been a 70-point thrashing in previous years says everything about what's happing at the club. In the final minute referee Ben Cummins awarded the Warriors a penalty 35m out after Curran was held back from getting to the ball and Johnson nailed the kick. It couldn't have been any worse.

Steph Curry addresses uncertainty of Warriors' 2023-24 NBA season (NBC Sports Bay Area)

Things could look a lot different for the Warriors next season, but Steph Curry is confident everything will fall into place as it's meant to.

The unanswered questions remain, but Curry and the Warriors have a task at hand to worry about first and foremost -- defending their NBA title. "But when you prove that you can win, then you kind of hold off the dogs in terms of how hard it is to do what we’ve done and keep this together for as long as we have." But Curry knows as long as Golden State keeps winning, it can help justify some of those choices -- especially when it comes to two key pieces to the dynasty like Myers and Green. I’m not the first person to say that or acknowledge it," Curry said. And Green's contract situation is murky, too, as the 33-year-old has the option to opt out of his four-year deal next season. "I think we can all acknowledge and keep it real that had we not won a championship last year, then those questions would have been a lot more ...

'We're loving it' - Johnson on secret to Warriors' success (1 News)

The in-form playmaker returned home with a moonboot on today, but allayed fears of a serious injury.

He’s the head of the spear essentially and it’s a true reflection of what he’s doing with the group and the support he’s got with the staff. We work hard and everyone’s on the same page as to what’s required to perform.” “Success starts at the top and it flows down. That dates back to our pre-season and all the hard work that we’ve done. “We’ve already done a little snapshot review and have seen areas we can improve on, but certainly we’re enjoying the moment of being able to come back in that sort of manner. And we come to an environment that’s fun to be around.

Where does 2023 rank for the Warriors' best-ever start to an NRL ... (Stuff.co.nz)

ANALYSIS: Epic comeback victory against the Sharks means the Kiwi club have won four of their opening five games for just the second time in 20 years.

The previous occasion was in 2003, when, in Daniel Anderson’s third year in charge, they backed up their maiden grand final appearance with a trip to the preliminary finals. Only once in their history have the Auckland-based side gone 5-0 to start a campaign. But just twice have they notched more than five-in-a-row. 3-2: Five times: 2010 (5th of 16, lost in first week of playoffs), 2008 (8th of 16, lost in preliminary final), 2007 (4th of 16, lost in second week of playoffs), 2002 (1st of 15, lost in grand final), 1996 (11th of 20) So up and down have the Warriors been in the past, that through their previous 28 years in the NRL (and associated former competitions) they have only twice not lost more than one of their opening five games of a season. [one of their most remarkable victories of all-time](https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/league/131674846/watch-shaun-johnson-on-the-warriors-funny-s-halftime-rave-before-nrl-comeback-win), the Warriors have at the same time achieved something they have only once before accomplished in the last 20 years.

Steph Curry, Steve Kerr address Warriors' mindless play in rough loss (NBC Sports)

After yet another disappointing road loss, Steve Kerr and Steph Curry try to explain the Warriors' lack of focus on the road.

"We understood that without Jokić out there, we're going to try and guard -- kind of picked on them really with ball and body movement," Curry recalled. So the guys really fought those last four minutes but from mid-second quarter until those last four minutes, we were mindless out there. Speaking of that second quarter, the Warriors had a 15-point lead, 46-31, with 9:17 remaining. Golden State then went on a 14-5 run to close the game, with Klay Thompson missing two game-winning attempts from 3-point land. Johnson returns to haunt Sharks in stunning win for Warriors (1 News)

Shaun Johnson has come back to haunt Cronulla, kicking a penalty goal with 90 seconds left to seal a gutsy, heart-in-mouth 32-30 NRL win for the Warriors.

With less than 90 seconds left the Sharks chanced their arm and when the ball went to ground, Curran hacked it ahead. The Kiwi outfit trailed for the near entirety of tonight's game at a rain-soaked PointsBet Stadium until they were awarded a penalty for a push on Josh Curran as he attempted to catch a loose ball he had hacked ahead. A dropped ball from Warriors fullback Chanrze Nicoll-Klokstad led to Mulitalo adding his second of the afternoon but with Hynes unable to convert the Sharks had a buffer of just six points with 20 minutes remaining.

Warriors go rogue and let game slip away in Denver (Vacaville Reporter)

NBA: Golden State Warriors will play final home game Tuesday vs. Oklahoma City, close out regular season with games in Sacramento, Portland.

“We have it in us, we have to play together the full 48.” “Frustrated,” Kerr said when asked about the vibes in the locker room after a loss like this. Thompson buried a 14-footer with 4:13 left in the second quarter to put Golden State ahead 56-44. Golden State turned the ball over only twice by the time Gary Payton II made a layup to put the Warriors up by 15 points at the 9:17 mark of the second quarter. But Jamal Murray got a hand on the ball and time expired, dropping the Warriors’ record away from home to 9-30. The ball was humming and the shots were flowing.

NRL ScoreCentre: Bulldogs vs Cowboys, Sharks vs Warriors — live ... (ABC News)

Canterbury meets North Queensland in Homebush, as the Warriors celebrate a remarkable 32-30 victory over Cronulla in a match that came down to the wire.

Will Kennedy breezed in for Cronulla and any hope of a Warriors comeback looked to have been extinguished when Niukore was sin-binned for a hip-drop tackle on Siosifa Talakai on the stroke of half-time. A torrential downpour ensued and the match took a further turn when Finucane was sin-binned for his tackle on Nicoll-Klokstad. The Warriors trailed for the near entirety of the match until they were awarded a penalty for a push on Josh Curran as he attempted to catch a loose ball he had hacked ahead. His role in the middle was a far-cry from the five-eighth spot for which he is best remembered by Bulldogs fans, but he brought much-needed energy when the chips were down and finished with 19 tackles. But it was not until Addo-Carr sailed over on the left in the final 45 seconds that the Bulldogs were able to level the scores, having remained on the attack for the final 10 minutes. The Cowboys maintained a slim lead for most of the match and enjoyed the better of first-half chances.
